Hotel is beautiful, even though it doesn't look like it from the outside. Breakfast options were great and the girls were always helpful and had a smile on their faces. Two great pools and nice steam room.

Breakfast wide variety of good choices. Friendly and helpful staff who speaks perfect English. They helped me to search domestic website for good restaurants. Spacious room. The only thing is... one of the two doors entering the bathroom is quite transparent. You can look at the one taking bath if you stand outside that door. One of the best sleep...

It is a very comfortable and modern hotel with cool amenities like a rooftop pool and a projector+screen instead of a tv. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about tourist activities and things to do around. The price is very reasonable, especially if you own a non-Argentinian Passport (you don´t pay tax in that case). San Telmo may not...

After our disaster booking somewhere else, the 2 of us discovered The Mansion!! The first thing that stood out was the personnel! No matter who was on the desk David, John, Carlos etc.) they went out of their way to be helpful (directions, restaurants, book the Ferry, change money, get a cab. etc.) The rooms were a good size for...

San Telmo is basically the safe part of old town Buenas Aires, and Vitraux was an excellent headquarters if you wish to base yourselves in the older part of the City. There were tango dancers (of course) and your basic steak houses in the nearby square, which also hosts a weekend market (which we missed). The staff was helpful with...

A big thank you to the front of staff Juan and Carlos. They were exceptional. I stayed three nights at the MV while I had just torn a ligament in my ankle. They went over and above to help me out on my situation. Organising visits to the hospital, making phone calls to airline and dr. They made an otherwise...

Mansion Vitraux was a perfect place for us to end our two week holiday in Argentina and Chile. The location, in San Telmo, was excellent and we enjoyed walking to the market and local bars and restaurants in this atmospheric district of Buenos Aires. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very generous. The only thing keeping this...

This is a boutique hotel with only 12 rooms it looks very discrete from outside and you wouldn't think it's a hotel. The rooms are large and comfortable but the urban rooms lack natural daylight. The breakfast is served to you with a choice of various combinations to choose from. The breakfast room was very imitate. The pool on the...

Mansion Vitraux in a Boutique Hotel in the truest sense of the definition: only 12 rooms, unique, quiet and intimate. I stayed in one of the "urban" rooms (as opposed to the "glam" rooms). With this particular room "urban" translated to being located on the ground floor right next to the lobby, without a single window letting direct daylight in....

Staying in San Telmo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
