Yes, this is an architectural gem with lovely attention to detail (Frette linens, etc) situated in a beautiful area of an interesting and exciting city. What makes it so very special is the staff. Before we even arrived, Rocio had already made our lives easier, helping us with travel arrangements in a way that went beyond the norm and this...

The rooms are really suites and you feel like you are almost on your own private floor. We had two rooms next to each other and kept the doors open to them. The only flaw of the hotel is the room where they serve breakfast: very quiet and dark, food not good. But easily solved by going out into the...

Based on the restaurant reviews and the fact the the hotel is part of the Relais and Chateaux association, we chose to stay here for 3 nights. The excellently located hotel has a nice, intimate feel while the suites are very large and well appointed. However, we never did have dinner in the restaurant, it was closed for good on...

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago at the end of our cruise to Antarctica. Have been to BA numerous times and after experiencing a couple of the larger, more well know hotels, along with there attitude, wanted to try something different, and we were not disappointed. We arrived early on a Thursday morning (as we had to disembark the...

The property is pretty small and that is why we choose it. The hardware is good... nice and modern and everything inside the room works. There is only 1 person at the front desk that does everything and they do a good job in helping us find a restaurant. However, sometimes they don't have enough manpower... there isn't sufficient communication...

This gorgeous boutique hotel is very special, featuring beautiful architecture. Situated in the Recoleta district of Buenos Aires, it is extremely well located. When we arrived, we were minus our luggage as it had not been unloaded from our flight and was taken onto another location. The staff were extremely courteous and considerate, offering us a drink from the bar...

Absolutely outstanding accommodations, location and service. A small, well located and very exclusive hotel that will exceed all of you expectations. Our suite was one of the finest, if not the finest, I have stayed in anywhere in the world.

This was the first and hotel on our tour through Argentina. Based in the Recoleta district location is great, close to Recoleta cemetery, museums and restaurants. Rooms were spacious couldn't fault the amenities at all. Staff were friendly and eager to assist in anyway possible. Bar is quaint although we were there and the hotel wasn't particularly busy it is...

Wow! So where to start! Amazing staff Great location Stunning design, our suite was fantastic! Room 3 We felt happy and comfortable the moment we stepped into the hotel. The four poster bed and wine cellar was wonderful. Really lovely sofa/living area and a huge bathroom! Don't worry if your suite is at the front of the hotel, the road...

Being in the heart of Recoleto the location is great but as good as many others. The staff as good, very attentive and responsive. We had a suite which was perhaps too big, we never ventured into the dining section. The cable TV only worked in the bedroom, which was rather annoying as my partner slept early which denied me...

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
