Check in was smooth. Upon entering room 612 the bath room door would not shut. Constantly squeaked. The phones don't work as we did not receive wake up call that we scheduled from another room. Most disappointing is that no 110v plug in bathroom. Hence if you are American you are not welcomed. Standing shower is the size of a...

The street is lovely and quiet, though we are less than two blocks from major roads and shopping/dining areas. Excellent staff, with a European feel but not stuffy. Just friendly and enjoyable. The room was well appointed and not tiny. The reception area is gorgeous and relaxing, which is very refreshing when you come back from the rush of the...

We stay at the Sofitel Heathrow a few times every year which we think is by far the best airport hotel in the world plus have stayed at several other Sofitels and always found them to be excellent. We had booked a "luxury room" so expected it to be wonderful. Instead the room was tiny and the bathroom had the...

We enjoyed this hotel VERY much. The location in the French section of town is surrounded by exquisite architecture. The staff is friendly and most professional - they knew our names from the moment we checked-in! The rooms are lovely, spacious, and quiet, and we would easily recommend this hotel.

I stayed in the hotel as part of a business trip for 3 nights. The reception area is quite spectacular and when you arrive the staff are very friendly! Hotel is located in residential part of Recoleta, within walking distance from major city attractions, yet away from busy streets and hoards of tourists. Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
