This hotwl is super conveniently lovated downtown and is within walking distance from a lot of places you want to visit in ba. Staff is nice, the hotel is beautiful and clean, and the breakfast was superb. Only glitch was internet, which was expensive if you were not careful. But overall, two thumbs up!

This hotel is very well located. As we arrived and thru our stay , the front desk was absolutely helpful. Wonderful people. We got the room in the top floor as requested. My family got the connecting rooms requested. Breakfast was plentiful.

Located in the center of the city, in front of several bars, nice buffet for breakfast, access to main streets, subway, turibus, buquebus, marqués port, etc. A good option to stay when you come to Buenos Aires.

First the bad- awful cleaning product smell at reception. We got no info about the hotel from reception and had to ask where we went for breakfast. Out room was OK, but the 'city view' was of an office block across the road - couldn't see anything else. Breakfast was average. On the day we had to leave early, we...

The hotel was in a good location to be able to get around and see the tourist sights. The bars/ restaurants in front can be a little noisy on the weekends. Personally feel the hotel could use an update feels old fashion in its decoration. The food was good. We were upgraded to a huge suite for a minimal up...

Our stay at the hotel Melia was reasonably comfortable but on one of the days when the weather was very hot the air conditioner couldn't keep up and the room was a bit stifling. The hotel had fans whirring in the lobby and in the hallways to try to cool the hotel but the airconditioning system simply couldn't keep up...

The hotel is showing its age and I have a hard time believing it is 5 star. That said the rooms are very clean and functional and the service e of the front desk and conference staff was very good. Recommended for stays required in this location. Competitive rates.

The Melia Buenos Aires is an upmarket four star hotel that is centrally located in “down town” Buenos Aires. It does not quite measure to a five star rating but still is a very good hotel. For comparison the Melia would be closer to Pullman level than a Sofitel. So many hotels rate themselves as five stars, I find it...

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
