I visited Buenos Aires for the first time. I had looked at several hotels and chose this one. I was not disappointed. It is well located in that it is off the main roads but in the best part of the City. There is an...More
When we arrived at the hotel we were not sure what to expect. At a first look it doesn't seem to be a five or four star hotel, but the room was huge with a nice balcony and very clean. The bathroom may need some...More
Hotel is well located and very good value for money. Service was excellent with most client-facing staff English-speaking. There is a supermarket directly across the hotel which made buying sundries very convenient. Hotel is located within easy walking distance to shopping district "Florida" and New...More

Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with
ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.

We hired a taxi from one of the taxi companies that are inside the airport tucked in a corner. We were told the one just outside was more expensive. They all post their flat rate price in US dollars and Argentinian. We picked the lowest and prepaid with visa. I think it was about $30 US. It worked well.
