Needed a place to stay a few days as I laid over on my way to Catamarca, and this ended up being the spot. Location is good, good bang for the buck... But the rooms and the lobby are tired. You get what you pay for, and, in this case? It's good location. But nothing fundamentally wrong here... Just not...

Budget hotel which could be improved. I stayed for a week and could return. The air conditioner is a wall mounted type with no switch and control. You need to plug and unplug to switch on and off and all the control for temp and wind speed were dismantled. Noise of it was obvious but as a light sleeper I...

This is a basic and modest property with smallish rooms. Staff are quite wonderfully helpful and seem to do their best to assist and make you comfortable. But the best part of this hotel is its location, which is in close proximity to all of the area's points of interest and transportation. It's not the Ritz, but it does just...

This hotel has excellent staff that it doesn't deserve - the receptionist on duty (long hair worn in a pony tail - forgot to ask her name) could not have been more helpful or friendly and the waitress who served me the most basic of breakfasts was also lovely. And that's where the good news stops. I was allocated a...

I chose this hotel for its location based on other reviews and was not disappointed. I easily walked to pl deMayo, San Telmo, y Recoleta no problem from here, subte not far. One block off SanteFe so quiet (big city quiet that is) Bathroom ensuite, wifi, tv, breakfast included, very friendly staff. I got there early and Ariel was so...

I chose this hotel mainly for its location, which I know pretty well. I went to visit my sister who lives two blocks from the hotel. I wasn´t willing to spend a lot of money on just a bed and hot water.

The room we stayed in has nice large floor to ceiling windows/doors that open to a small ledge (not quite a balcony), and the size was smallish but adequate. The bathroom was very small. The rooms are adequately clean, but very dated and could use some renovations. Now the negatives... The hotel is in a nice quiet area, but very...

It does have a good location. The area feels safe, is central to a lot of good areas and places to eat and drink near by, easy to catch the buses or just walk to from here. However, the room was not exactly much to write home about. It had no natural light, was so hot (and this was in...

Hotel staff is great! extremely friendly and helpful. This place is all about location, it is within walking distance to bus stops, to the subway and to many places to eat and shop. If these are your main interests when visiting Buenos Aires, you will not be disappointed. The place keeps its own charm by looking antique, this is not...

please let me preface this summary by saying that I am a 20 year old college student from the US, so take that into consideration when reading my review. I needed a place to stay and I wanted something cheap in a good location. This hotel exceeded my expectations. The location was excellent, only about 20 feet from Av. Santa...

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
