We decided to stay in this hotel because it was budget friendly. However there are few points on which hotel can work on and which doesn't cost a lot of money. 1. Welcoming - 3/5 just ok. Maybe it was a language barrier but when trying to explain to us, receptionist told: yes your room is free but is dirty... More

Room is super fair. Great bed and shower, good service. Breakfast is satisfying too, try the sweet medialunas . Location is very good, close to Calle Florida, Plaza de Mayo. I would stay again and recommend to friends.

I joined an Intrepid tour which started and ended at this hotel - two nights in total - and generally unimpressed. I could not wait to leave. The staff are most unhelpful, the location isn't great, especially on the weekends where there is no vibe or atmosphere in the area, and it's just old. Plus any hotel where they buzz... More

The buffet style breakfast was great! The coffee included was not great but you can buy Machine made coffee as well... The rooms were on the heavy side, old school, not my style but I'm not in Buenos Aires to stay in the room anyway... The location is good & the staff friendly...

This hotel is in a small side street but right in the centre. Buses past the door so rooms at the rear will be quieter than those at the front. The Metro is around the first corner . Another metro line is 3 blocks the other way. We found all the staff very helpful even to the extent of one... More

Pros: Central location – short walk to subway, Casa Rosada, Catedral, restaurants and cafes. Small but charming boutique hotel. Room and bathroom were fine. Good maid service everyday. Cons: Front desk staff could be more personable. Unreliable WIFI in rooms. Breakfast was acceptable (not many choices).

Stayed 4 nights in May. Twin room on top floor (6th I think). Generally a good quality room. Had a bath which was fab! City view from balcony. Reasonably sized room. US $148 including breakfast for total of 4 nights. I think tax (~10%) may have had to be added. Room nice & clean. A few quirks... balcony sliding door... More

I selected it for its location. Very central & just a few steps away from the 'happening ' Florida Avenue In fact it is so central that you do not have to take a cab for most of your outings. The close by area is teeming with shops , bars , eateries of various standards , money changers , banks... More

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
