I chose to stay in Maria's Tango House after reading reviews on Trip Advisor recommending it by other solo female travellers. From the moment I was picked up from the airport by Maria's friend Susanna, I felt like I was with family. Alberto and Marta welcomed me that night, sharing delicious empanadas and wine and lending me Pesos until changing...

I spent three weeks at this guest house. I was travelling solo to experience a tango immersion. Maria Teresa is a consummate host and guide, and shares her passion for tango and socializing freely with her guests. Members of her family attend to your day to day needs on site, whether that's a charger for your phone, a local restaurant...

We had a wonderful time during our stay. We felt right at home just as we arrived. I could not have been more pleased with the staff. Everyone was very warm and accomodating. The room was perfect, the bed was great for two people, and it was nice to have a kitchen to use. We foud the rooftop a perfect...

My tango partner and I really debated on where to stay during our first trip to BA. Do we immerse ourselves in tango and the culture or do we go for creature comforts of a hotel? We decided that our whole reason for visiting BA was to dance tango, speak Spanish - immersion - so immersion it was! Maria's House...

I stayed at Maria's tango house for over a month in February-March 2013 and it was truly an amazing experience. The house is very nice and full of charm, and the location is very convenient for walks around the city and especially for all the tango related activities (milongas and tango schools are all close by). It also has an...

From the airport to the house (a very nice "portena" house in center of the city), the welcome was warm and sincere. The service is always available, the rooms are beautiful, practical. A good atmosphere is established between the different tenants, all tango addicts. Maria "coached" us for the wonderful milongas she likes and that is valuable in this megalopolis...

My dad and I stayed at La Casa de Maria Tango for about 5 nights in December. It is a cozy house, full of character, with a beautiful terrace on the roof overlooking the city. It is within walking distance (a couple blocks) from a large grocery store, which is very convenient. The kitchen in the house is shared among...

What a wonderful feeling to wake up to the sounds of birds coming from the roof terrace—the advantage of shutter doors at this traditional style house. But even better, I didn’t hear the loud traffic so usual in Buenos Aires.....just peace and quiet, the way I like it after a late night of dancing tango. Graciela the sister of the...

Over the past fifteen years I have traveled to Buenos Aires and experienced the city primarily through the lens of Maria and her casa. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Besides incredible connections on the tango dance floor, many of which were because of her connection and involvement in the tango community, I have celebrated my birthday on a BA rooftop...

I was given alot of information prior to my departure about BA and about the history of Tango. Picked up at the airport (all my transfers to/from the airport)...
