This hotel is well situated in the city center. That, and free underground parking are the only good thing about it. Rooms smell of dust, need a re-do urgently. Breakfast was very basic. Not much choice. Cheap hotel, and a reasonable night's sleep.
We stayed 5 nights in January 2020 and very much enjoyed it. They held our bags for 4 hours and then let us enter our rooms early. The hotel is located a block off of the main square, very well located. The rooms were clean and orderly. The pool is small but clean and with a great view of the distance mountains. The breakfast started at 7am, a little late for our excursion times, and the staff arranged for the buffet to open at 6:30am for us. The buffet is of good quality and substantial, and the Nespresso machine a great bonus. We enjoyed our stay and would gladly return.
room needed to be totally redone. furnishings and walls were scuffed stained and worn. air conditioner leaked into the room and onto the carpet continuously. "business center" didnt exist. staff didn't know how to operate their own scan, email and fax equipment. i spent 36 hours trying to scan and email court documents to a court in the united states and finally left and walked until i found a small business who did it on their scanner/copier. (it takes like 30 seconds to do this and its incredibly easy. modern copy machines all have screens that walk you through the three step process) the staff was incredibly nice and trying really hard. they simply weren't equipped to assist business travelers. location was nice if you want to be right downtown near cafes etc.
When we arrived there everything was looking perfect , the pool and beach area was beautiful. The food taste good but really repetitive , also with some waiters that really don’t want to do their jobs, the waiters with the outside people from different country’s give them a better service than the local people because they believe that the tourists will give them better tips , when all clients pay the same money to be their. The pool area is very nice but you get tired after a while because they play the same repetitive music and the animation crew activities is really poor and needs to be a focus for that resort. Also there was a situation in which my safe lock was locked on its own and I had to wait over 2 hours and call reception 4 different times just so someone could come to my room and do a 2 minute job. All in all the hotel is a beautiful place in a beautiful location but it’s down fall is its poor service , it was disappointing. I wouldn’t go back there even though it has a nice area because of its lack luster service …
We stayed at the Gran for 3 nights (Feb.4th - 6th) and enjoyed a room overlooking the pool and the 25th de Mayo plaza. We were very pleased with the service provided, helpful and pleasant Reception group, breakfast was included and average buffet style for most hotels, the pool was clean and towels provided pool side, loved those wooden stairs..so nice to see Beautiful woods employed in otherwise sterile modern buildings.. lifts/elevators present but used with luggage. The Gran has the advantage of a central location as you are just around the corner from the Plaza and 5 minutes to Cantina Español ( we have eaten here several years in row and it now seems the locals have caught on as it is very popular. The price at the Gran was very good for all relevant factors one might look for in a hotel. BTW show passport, Pay with foreign Credit card and show Argentina Border Stamp in your passport and you Save 21% of your bill . Would certainly stay here again on any new visit.…
