We stayed at John's Secret Garden for 2 nights this December. John is simply a wonderful and resourceful person that we have the privilege of meeting. John took us for a tour of the area, gave us a good sense of where everything is, showed us where to eat (on the Brazilian side) and generally was our gracious host throughout....

We opted for just one night in Iguazu. We stayed at Secret Garden and had a fantastic time. John was away so he left the place in the capable hands of young Bernardo. We were picked up at the airport, driven around the area to get our bearings, and then given some very solid advice about seeing the falls. In...

If you ever go to Argentina, you must certainly visit the Cataratas de Iguazú. While you are there, stay with John Hernandez. He is the perfect host [not only for the free Caiperinias]. He serves a lovely breakfast and the rooms are OK, but most of all, he knows what you want. He can provide you with a good car...

Just three rooms in a beautiful garden, Secret Garden B&B sells itself from the second you arrive - when we found our host, John, hopping into the car to give us a personalised tour of Iguazu: what other hotel boasts such a great welcome?! The rooms are basic but spacious and the garden gorgeous. The well-publicised evening cocktails are well...

My wife and I could not imagine better accommodations in Puerto Iguazu than the Secret Garden where we stayed 2 nights in mid-November. The rooms were simple but air-conditioned and sufficient in all respects. The location was fine as it was a short walk to a bus stop for the inexpensive (5 pesos) direct bus to the Park entrance. There...

We spent one night at Secret Garden and we were really happy we chose this B&B. John is the owner, he took us on a short drive of the area so we saw all the main sites in one go. The room was fine, quite spacious, had AC and the B&B has a lovely garden where we sat and read...

After reading so many good reviews I was wondering if this place could possibly live up to them all. The great news is that John's Secret Garden did 110%! This place was a little oasis. Tastefully decorated rooms with the perfect amount of character. The nightly drinks, hosted by John really topped it off and were a great way to...

The lessons are simple: work on a small scale, create a hospitable but unobtrusive climate where guests can come together, provide an early evening get-together with delicious nibbles and drinks, be efficient, enjoy your guests and they will enjoy you. John does all of these things and has provided the nicest place to stay ever.

We stayed in Iguassu for a couple of nights and had a great time at John´s B&B. The rooms are extremely clean with A-C and all the amenities and the exotic garden is like something out of a movie. Great Mojito´s served from 7 which hit the spot after a day walking the trails up n down the falls. I´d...

We stayed at the Secret Garden for three nights, and it was a wonderful experience. John Fernandes is the ultimate host. He was very responsive to questions prior to our trip, arranged for transportation during our stay, gave us a tour around town, and recommended some fantastic restaurants for us to try. The happy hour on his patio stretched to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
An ideal place to jump-start your visit to the Iguazu Falls in Argentina. High on concept the Secret Garden is populated by tree ferns and other shade-loving plants salvaged from the slash and burn rural and logging activities decimating the surrounding rain-forest. Our location allows you to get a feel of living in a small South American frontier town and has easy access to urban amenities. ... more   less
