This hotel is situated on a very beautiful property just off the central area of Tilcara. The grounds are what stand out the most as they are full of flowers, green grass and cactus. Each room has a private area where with a view of the grounds. The room itself is super clean. The breakfast was also good. We particularly...

Posada de Luz is in an excellent location, just a short walk to the town centre. The posada is surrounded by a stone wall, which makes it quite private and secure. Secure parking is also included. The gardens are pretty and there is a swimming pool, and barbeque area for guests. Rooms have individual verandas, ours faced the town below....

Very quite neighborhood, but not so easy to find (lack of signs). Friendly welcome by Luz. Rooms not too big, build in local adobe style, in total harmony with nature and traditions. In the middle of the most beautiful nature of north Argentina! Very good breakfast (for Argentina standards), including eggs. Good restaurant recommendation by Luz. Thanks, merci, gracias! We...

Thanks to Luz for being so gracious and helpful. Definitely the best place we stayed in Argentina. So professionally run, at the same time so relaxed and friendly. Beautiful views and wonderfully designed to include so much traditional craft and locally sourced architectural materials. It made it such a very special to visit. We had a lovely clean room and...

Everything is perfect about Posada Del Luz. The warm and friendly owner, Luz, is usually there, fluent in English and full of ideas for dining and exploring. The hotel is perfectly located few blocks from Tilcara's main square, up a hill with panoramic mountain and town views. The rooms are clean and charming, and they leave a bucket of wood...

I will add to the long list of positive reviews. I stayed for 2 nights with my wife and father-in-law and enjoyed every moment. Each of us had a double room, which was tastefully decorated, had a stove and sitting area, a modern bathroom, and a sitting area and lawn chairs outside the room. The property has a beautiful common...

Such a beautiful place! Our room had a attractive sleeping area, raised sitting area with wood stove, lovely bathroom, and a patio outside. The breakfast is much more extensive than one usually finds in Argentina. Staff were lovely. I could have stayed much longer than two days. PS. This is the place to try coca tea!

PRO: Upon arrival we fell in love with this hotel. Although they spoke little English we were able to get by. The grounds of the hotel are lovely and the pool is warm and great!! Our room was the suite and had 2 bedrooms which was great for my daughter. We swam and explored the town all within walking distance....

Dear Jill, thank you very much for taking the time to rate our inn. Your comments will help us improve our services. Concerning dogs, you are right, and we are actively working with Tilcara`s Pets Association, to control this problem that affects all the village. regards Luz

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
La Posada de Luz is in Tilcara, in the heart of the Quebrada de Humahuaca, which was declared Natural and Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2003. It was categorized with three stars by the Tourism Department of the Province of Jujuy, and it has 6 double rooms, triple rooms and a quadruple one. Its owner, Luz Manfredi, knew the area in 1985, while on a trip to Cuzco, and since then she was in love with the landscape and the culture of the people. The project to build an inn in the “quebradeña way”, i.e. with stone foundations, adobe walls and mud cake and cane roofs grew through the years, and it took shape in January 2004 with the opening of the Posada de Luz with its 6 rooms whose main charm are the terraces from where you get a panoramic view of the hills around Tilcara. Since then we have received in the Posada people from all corners of Argentina and the world, many of whom are now great friends of ours. ... more   less
