After reading the recently written reviews, I decided to write one to get the record straight. Casa de Paula is a B&B, not a hotel. All the rooms are different, and I knew which ones were allocated to me. I spent two nights at different times. Because the B&B was full, for the second night I was given the window-less room. It was also cheaper. Since I was getting up at dawn, I didn't mind. Trelew is not a tourist destination except for the Paleontology museum which deserves a visit. The displays offers information in English. Its dinosaurs are awesome! The regional airport is in Trelew, and overnight in the city is often necessary. I was heading to Puerto Piramides in Valdes Peninsula. Paula was friendly, she even gave me a ride downtown. The staff was efficient. Breakfast was fine, but too many sweets for my taste. I got what I paid for. Argentina is a Spanish speaking country, very few people speak English in Patagonia.

What a great place! Excellent ambiance, friendly staff, what else can you ask for? A little mystifying factoid:one of the taps in our bathroom opens the wrong way, it's got me stumped! Most highly recommended.

First of all, if you can, try to stay in Puerto Madryn, as both accommodations and restaurants are better than the ones in Trelew. Secondly, beware as the room you book will probably not be the one given to you when you arrive. I am not sure why they list room descriptions and categories if they just give you whatever room is left over. Seems like only one of the rooms has air conditioner and some of the rooms don’t even have windows. We brought up issuers that we had with the owner but they decided to not do anything about it, so we left and thankfully bookings . com canceled our reservation. We spent an extra day in Puerto Madryn, which was much pleasant.

Terrible owner, we booked two different rooms, one a superior triple with air conditioning and a second one that was a superior double. Both should have come with a balcony. They charged both rooms when we arrived without telling us, even tho we communicated with them before the stay on WhatsApp and by email, totally unacceptable. The triple room changed to a room with no air conditioning and the double room changed to a room with no window. They then offered us a $8 discount which is insulting. I would not recommend that anyone stay here, total waste of time, very unprofessional hosts. Also as everyone has said before they charged a terrible inflated exchange rate if you pay in the local currency, and they don’t accept credit cards because they want to be paid in US dollars so that they don’t need to declare it to the government and pay any taxes on the revenue.

We stayed two nights in this huge beautiful house run by a lovely lady. On our arrival she kindly prepared some maté we could drink quietly on the room balcony. The room was clean, spacious and silent. A pretty nice breakfast was served in the kitchen. The city centre is roughly 15 minutes walking and Punta Tombo is roughly 1h15 driving, easy to visit on a day trip.
