This is a perfectly good (large) hotel in a central spot in Trelew, slightly set back from the main few streets (yet only 5 minutes’ walk away). Classic, old rooms – the key (rather than card) to lock the rooms an indication of the hotel’s age – but it’s nonetheless charming and everything works very well. The staff are friendly and cooperative, with good English spoken, and breakfast was good. Would recommend.
Only stayed one night and flew out early next morning so didnt get to sample breakfast. Its slightly dated but the rooms were large comfortable and clean it certainly represents excellent value for money.Hotel recommended a very good restaurant about 10 mins walk away think it was called Raices in Avenue Fontana. The hotel makes a small charge for underground parking
After a medical emergency my husband was air-lifted off a cruise ship to the local hospital. I was taken to the Hotel Libertador - alone and with no spanish. They were very helpful and caring. I had a great room with double bed and a single, a desk, a table and chairs, a bathroom with a bath/shower and plenty of room. The staff in the restaurant were great and the meals although different from Australia were very good and freshly cooked. Breakfast was fine - no cooked breakfast but plenty to eat with fresh fruit, cereal, toast etc. etc. The hotel was very clean, wifi was easy and free, and there was a business centre with computers and ability to print out items. Whatever I was searching for in town I was always helped by the desk staff who gave me a map to show me where to go and called a taxi for me if needed - even going to the driver to make sure he understood where I wanted to go. The hotel is very central and close to the shops. Although I was not there to go sight- seeing I did see the staff helping others with their enquires and filling their thermos flasks etc. It is a great hotel with great staff and I will be forever grateful to them for the wonderful way in which they helped me at a difficult time.…
Trelew doesn't have a broad variety of hotels, therefore of the ones available I would definitely go for the Libertador. Nice airy room, with a comfortable bed and a clean functional ensuite bathroom. Staff very helpful with all queries relating to the hotel and were very knowledgeable about the city / taxis / tourist destinations. The breakfast was typical fare you get in Argentina - cereals, toast, pastries etc. Short walk of two or three blocks down hill to the town centre. If returning to Trelew I would certainly book the Libertador again. The alternatives can't match this place.
Reading reviews, this was the highest rated hotel we saw in Trelew. It's Okay, well located in the city. It was really cheap, they charged less than they posted, restaurant was closed for the entire week between Christmas and New Year, breakfast was not great. Room was clean but small, it did have a desk with power outlet, the A/C didn't have individual thermostat per room. so a little warmer than we wanted late in the day, but needed the heavy blanket at night. Shower took a little time to get the water flowing from the time you turned the tap, and safe came with no instructions on how to set it. Had to call reception so they showed me how to use it. Reception was nice and helpful, and got us the taxi we needed for the airport at the requested time.
