The hotel was relatively cheap compared to other options. It is a 3 minute drive from town center, at the end of a nice tree lined street. The rooms are spacious, but the rugs and furniture are old and there was a bit of a musty smell. The toilet in one of our rooms got clogged and the room stank....

As if seeing the Perito Moreno glacier wasn't enough to make this trip unforgettable... the Kau Yatun was our cherry on the cake. The place is an Estancia on the outskirts of El Calafate town. A 10 min walk from the Main Street. The hotel is one with Estancia 25 Mayo, which is one of the 'excursions' to do in...

We enjoyed our stay at the Kau Yatun Hotel, which was located at the end of town—nicely situated away from the main touristy center of El Calafate. Our room was large and comfortable. The hallway to the rooms was decorated in a ranch-like style–appropriate for an old estancia. We would stay again, although we wouldn't eat at the hotel's restaurant...

Enjoy this former estancia and your comfy room. We slept with the windows wide open in March. Though the room was small, we did not intend to hold a dance party in it. The public spaces were well appointed and comfortable for conversation. This was also the place one much go for Wi Fi if your room is too far...

This hotel is a modified old farm house with good but spartan, (no TV for instance) rooms. The breakfast was OK but not exceptional. The hotel is located about 30 minutes walking from the city center and is a bit difficult to find in the dark

Stayed here for a couple of nights. Helpful and nice staff. Lovely entrance/lobby sitting area. Rooms a bit tired looking and worn. Could hear people in the room next door coughing and yawning during the night. Approx 20 min walk from the Main Street with shops/ restaurants etc.

We stayed at this hotel during our visit to El calafate and booked a superior triple room. However the room was no superior-the beds were not comfortable;maybe the spring was broken inside and the shower in the bathroom wasn't working properly. The restaurant was good and the staffs were friendly. Wouldn't call it a 4 star hotel.

When El Calafate was much smaller, this sheep station was just out of town. It still evokes the feeling of old Patagonia, but is just 1 mile or less from the best restaurants and shops. The rooms are are simple but clean.

We stayed here in fall 2016. The hotel has a great rustic feel to it, with rooms that are devoid of TVs and fancy finishes. Our windows opened (literally) onto an open area with grazing sheep & horses. The included breakfast was good (not the best we had in Argentina); dinner at the restaurant was OK, but better options are...

We booked this hotel, sight unseen, through the internet (Travelocity). There was a special price of $61USD (as of early 2017), and we were not really sure what to expect. **I learned that when booking through Travelocity (some partnership with Expedia exists), the hotel receives payment directly through Expedia. (There is also a no-cancellation policy; you pay, regardless of whether...
