The hotel is in a good location, the rooms bright and clean, and the front desk staff helpful. There are lovely views from the top floor breakfast room but the breakfast itself was a little lacking. There wasn't much besides sweetened cereals and sweet cakes. The available bread was dry. There was a little bit of scrambled egg which was all gone on the second day when I came down later. I asked the staff for more but they refused. All in all, not a bad stay.
Arrived early and left out luggage. When we checked in we ended up getting a small room in the basement with a small window overlooking a wall and service passage. Stifling hot room with no ventilation. We asked for a change and got a better room. Still was in the basement but this was tad better. Aleast a little bigger with a better bathroom, but still hot and could not sleep with the balcony door open. Only upside to the hotel was the breakfast room. Great views but the breakfast was basic. I felt cheated out of the money I paid which was similar to other guests by getting a rubbish room in the basement while others who paid the same got higher rooms and good views. They are not transparent in the kind of rooms they have. Reception service was subpar.
I cannot believe a hotel that costs this much cannot provide some milk for tea in the room when requested. The views are amazing but to have no milk for afternoon tea upstairs or on request is appalling. Some views from rooms are of walls where as others have outside space so inconsistent
We had a great stay at Alto Andino. This was our first trip to Ushuaia and we came to the town exhausted, but the place is gorgeous and we immediately felt comfortable. The rooms are clean and the cleaning staff is amazing. Breakfast is also wonderful and perfect to prep before a long day of hiking in Tierra del Fuego. We will be staying here again when we come back to Ushuaia.
We stayed in this hotel prior to Ieaving for a cruise to Antarctica. The front desk service was excellent. They allowed us to store Iuggage for several hours prior to departure. The hotel is located in the transition zone between the commercial district and residential areas so it was quiet while allowing easy access the restaurants and stores. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a bidet in the bathroom. The buffet breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of foods and a great view. We were looking forward to staying there upon our return from Antarctica but Covid-19 prevented us from returning to Ushuaia
5 of us stayed at the hotel for 4 nights - 2 planned and 2 unexpectedly due to the closing of the borders and all travel cancelations during the 2020 covid-19 crisis. I can not praise the hotel staff enough for their help during this difficult time as they made us feel welcome in spite of the pressure to close the hotel due to government mandate. For more normal times the hotel is noteworthy for the breathtaking views from the breakfast/common area, the comfort of the rooms and its great location in central Ushuaia.
We needed a place to stay overnight after our ship disembarkation, as our flight left in the morning next day. I was able to book this hotel through Expedia at a member discount. I don't have any complaints about this hotel, other than it was a little noisier in the area at night than the hostel we stayed at our first night. The service was friendly, the hotel itself was quiet, the room was spacious and clean, free wifi and breakfast, and it was close to the main part of town.
This smart comfortable hotel sits a couple of streets above the main street of Ushuaia. The hotel is clean, the room spacious and comfortable and the shower pressure amazing! Make sure you have breakfast in the breakfast room on level 4. A great way to start the day with the traditional Argentine continental breakfast, fruits, pastries, eggs. The views over the town and the beagle channel are breath taking.
As a family of 6 people in 2 rooms we all enjoyed our stay in Ushuaia due to the friendly, efficient & professional staff & amenities. The views from the breakfast terrace & windows made our day & we especially liked being away from the main street
I visited this hotel as a tour leader with 13 other guests, early February 2020. The hotel offers a great breakfast room with a panoramic view of 180 degrees over Ushuaia city. The breakfast is very basic but the restaurant room is clean and the staff very friendly and overall the view is great. The rooms are comfortable and nice but avoid the rooms in the basement ( -1) with no view. Wifi is good. Bathrooms are small but well equipped. Very small lobby and the restaurant do not serve lunch and dinner. But the hotel is well located and a shops and plenty of restaurants are just a few blocks away.
