You are staying in a room behind the hosts home. It is quiet and peaceful, and there is a view of the mountains when you step out of the room. They provide towels and soap. Showers were warm. You can flush toilet paper which is an exception in some places. Aase and Ove and wonderful kind people, who invite you... More

Magic Stone is in a great location, right on the edge of all the action. You get to enjoy a quiet nights sleep, while being only a 5-minute walk to the restaurants and nightlife. You are only a 2-minute walk to the taffy shops. The room was clean, comfortable, had wifi and hot, hot water. As a bonus, the owners... More

I would highly recommend this place. The room is cozy and homey - - located in a separate building from their place so it feels like you're in your own little home. The room was VERY clean with all amenities you would need. Location is great - - tucked away in a quiet street but a very short walk to... More

We decided to stay at magic stone after reading all the good reviews here. Aase and Ove are such wonderful hosts, I wished we could stay longer. The room was spacious cosy and clean. Breakfast was amazing: home made jam, different types of bread, eggs etc. and location was perfect for us, just a few minutes from the center of... More

We stayed with Aase and Ove in January and couldn't have been happier with our choice. Initially, I hesitated to contact them as they were on the list to "contact owner" for pricing/availability. So glad that I did. I rated this as a budget hotel, only because of the price for what you got. It is not "budget" in the... More

Aase and Ove are exceptionally hospitable, and provide such a comfortable, clean and positive atmosphere for every guest. I always come back to their place in whatever travels can get me back there. You really cant find anywhere else that allows you to feel like you live there as well. What a magical place it is!

We spent a week with Aase und Ove and had an amazing time. We actually changed hostels in order to be able to stay with them. They have just two rooms, so the atmosphere is very personal and familial. The rooms are great and offer everything you need. The breakfast was among the best we've had in 4 months travelling:... While in Baños we based ourselves at Magic Stone B&B a short walk from the centre of town but far enough away from the noise and maddening crowds. Our gracious hosts Ove and Aase are originally from Denmark but settled in Baños after travelling long term through South America themselves. The B&B has only 2 spacious rooms in a separate... More

When you arrive at Magic Stone you might notice the 'Se Vende' sign outside - after many years, the owners are moving on. So if you have been thinking about visiting Banos, now is the time. Arrived in Banos on the recommendation of a fellow traveller. When I got there I was overwhelmed by the kindness and help afforded by the owners. The accommodation is very clean, modern and comfortable. Breakfast is amazing. I have stayed in many places in South America so far and this was by miles the best.
