We stayed here about 3 years ago and had a wonderful time. Great for bird watching. I'm sorry to say that it has declined since then. It had spiders inside, weathered walls, and not enough stuff to fully use the kitchen. The WiFi was very spotty. You had to go to Kitchen/Dining to use with any certainty. Birds must still...

Thanks for your feedback. We're sorry you did not have as good an experience during your second visit to Quailway. We want you know know that, over the past few years, we have had several caretakers. They weren't always as thorough as one might like. Our current caretaker is great and I believe you'll find that the concerns you expressed...

There are a limited number of places to stay in the Chiricahua's and by the time we decided to go the choices were limited. So on the recommendation of another property owner we stayed at Quailway. First, the cottage is very nice. The rooms and beds were fine. The kitchen allowed us to save money on a couple of meals...

We loved the location. We were looking for low key place to stay and see some hummingbirds. This was it. The manager, Morgan, was so helpful with everything. She knew about hiking in area and some birdwatching tips. The place itself, was wonderful. While it was basic, it had things most places don't - spices, teas, house keeping supplies, cute...

I can't believe this great cottage hasn't received any additional reviews since my original one 18 months ago. Take my word for it, the guest book at the cottage is filled with wonderful comments. Anyway, this was our 2nd stay and as the title suggests, it was a great stay. The new managers are making improvement including wifi access and...

Quailway cottage is a great place to stay in the Portal/Rodeo/Cave Creek Canyon area. It is clean, comfortable and has everything you need to enjoy a short or long stay including a nice sized bathroom, washer/dryer and full kitchen with microwave. We spent two nights at the cottage recently, but unfortunately our staying coincided with the storm of the year....

This cottage is such a jewel of an oasis. Not only is it clean and roomy, but the atmosphere is wonderful. The birds there are a must see, not to mention hearing the coyotes early in the morning. The owners are very pleasant. We would certainly return again.

“The feeders are behind the back bedroom. The first thing I did was fill the feeders from the can by the wicker furniture.”

“The sleeping at night was comfortable and so quiet. The birds start early before the sun. We enjoyed that and the sky was so dark you can see more stars then normal.”
