Recently stayed with my family for Christmas at the Princess... incredible! Attention to detail, staff was amazing (especially Den and Jarred), can’t say enough. Fantastic resort anytime with family! It was so great, my wife and I returned later that month to celebrate our anniversary. Everyone at Bourbon Steak and La Hacienda were so thoughtful and caring to provide a special anniversary experience. Thanks to Thomas and his team for never failing to disappoint!

We stayed at the end of November and got to watch the massive weeklong effort to put up the extensive Christmas village including a s’mores town, train ride through more pretty lights than you can imagine, ice skating rink etc. Wow - definitely worth a night time visit this time of year. The hotel is huge. Parking was rather far from the room which could be inconvenient. The pools were lovely but the adult only pool is right next to the kids slide pool so you get to hear everyone else’s screaming kids. We ate at La Hacienda and while the service and ambience were lovely the food was just okay. Many attractive outdoor seating areas to sit and enjoy a drink. Large Santa Barbara style hotel, very attractive, many amenities and nice rooms but lacking the small details (probably due to it’s size) that would truly make it a 5 star resort.

Dear mandssa, Thank you for staying at the Princess and taking the time to leave a nice review. We're so glad you enjoyed our Christmas at the Princess attractions and our property's fantastic outdoor amenities. We understand our property can be very spread out and potentially inconvenient, but please know we have a wonderful golf cart service team available on-site 24/7. La Hacienda is one of our most preferred dining options on property, and we strive to provide our guests with the freshest ingredients and the most authentic Mexican flavors. However, our Chef is always happy to create custom meals based on our guests' palate preferences. We hope you come back to try some of our other dishes soon, as well as enjoy another stay at Princess and I can assure you we will work hard to exceed your expectations! Sincerely, Nicole Thomure Director of Rooms

This was our first visit to the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. We wanted to check out the Christmas at the Princess event and let me tell you, it exceeded our expectations! But, since this was our first time staying at the hotel I will share a review about both: Hotel experience: We stayed in a casita along the lagoon. It was cozy, well-appointed, and a nice size for a family of 4. We loved the fireplace and the open space. Given its 5 star status, I was disappointed about a few small things I think they can do to bring the room up a notch. First, a regular sized refrigerator. I’ve stayed in 5,4, and 3 star hotels and could not believe how tiny this refrigerator was considering the rest of the room seems to be set up for someone who is staying several days. Also, no microwave? Those should be two simple adds that would make it easy for families to be able to reheat leftovers from the restaurants. The bathroom and closet was large, but the large soaking tub was unappealing because it looked old/stained. I didn’t take a picture but imagine a white tub that is old enough to look dingy. Not a good impression for a 5 star resort. We dined at La Hacienda for dinner and took advantage of the $50 resort credit. For a family of 4, with one adult cocktail, 2 kids meals, 2 entrees, one mocktail and 2 kids beverages, we spent $175 including tip. Once the credit came through that was $125 for dinner. We expected it and the service was excellent and portions were generous, so I’d rate the restaurant a 5 but a bit overpriced in my opinion. We dine at high end restaurants often but the price of cocktails was definitely more than I expected for Arizona. Christmas at the Princess: The grounds were immaculate, and the Christmas decor was beautiful and better than we expected! Our kids (7 and 10 yrs) were so excited to experience the lights and the train. After that we went to the ice slide, Ferris wheel, and the s’mores making. All of these experiences except the s’mores were included in our package and we felt it was worth it. Again, our kids had so much fun and already have hopes to return for Christmas In 2021. We arrived at the Ferris wheel/ice slide around 9:30 and it was not crowded at all, which was perfect for us considering COVID restrictions. Also, as a hotel guest, we had the VIP wristbands so we didn’t have to wait in long lines for the rides- another great perk! We also purchased the s’mores package ($30 for enough ingredients to make 9 s’mores) and although that seems expensive, the experience made it worth it. Overall, we enjoyed our first visit to the Fairmont Princess and would recommend it, but I’d definitely recommend the small improvements I mentioned in order to enhance the experience and make it comparable to other 5 star luxury resorts we’ve stayed at (in San Diego and Costa Rica). I’d rate it a 4.5 out of 5 for this reason. Since I can’t rate it a half point, I give it a 5 because the small details were minor and we plan to return soon!

Dear CaliFishSD, Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. We are especially grateful of your compliments on our fabulous Christmas at the Princess attractions. Wow, it sounds like your family had a wonderful time! With 4.5 million LED lights and the musical tree in the Enchanted Plaza, it is definitely an event we are proud of. We're thrilled that you enjoyed your Casita, and appreciate your feedback in terms of the small details you felt were missing. For future reference, you are always more than welcome to call us from your guestroom and request a larger fridge and/or microwave if needed, and we are happy to assist and have it brought to your guestroom. Again, we're grateful for your feedback and we hope to welcome back to our resort soon! Sincerely, Nicole Thomure Director of Rooms

This is the grand property situated in large acreage with a multitude of amenities. We stayed in the gold part of the resort in a suite with a sofa bed. Give us a price on this resort, I would’ve like to see a little more modern touches and better finishes. This kind of reminded me off the St. Regis in Kauai. Wonderful location but a dated property

We stayed here for 4 nights during New Years. The hotel had a lot great activities for the family. There was an ice skating rink, s’mores, fireworks, Ferris wheel, tubing, water slides, great restaurants and amazing service. There’s a Starbucks on property. They have a great steakhouse, Bourbon, with the best sea bass and boo Choi ever. The Apple sweater was fabulous too. Hacienda restaurant is in the middle of everything and also had great food. The guacamole was amazing as was cheese fondue (it’s not called that) The squash quesadillas are amazing and flavorful. The food is not too oily or salty like other Mexican restaurants. Ask for the habanero sauce. It’s delicious but very spicy. Consider yourself warned. Toro was also great. They had a shuttle that came around every 10 min. The views were great and the food was good too. Tia and Hunter were amazing and accommodating. The breakfast at Ironwood is also top notch. Their Sunday brunch ends at 11 so get there early so you don’t miss it. I was very disappointed with the unkept quality of hotel. There was always trash sitting outside the hotel rooms and in the hallways. The walls were cracked and worn and the paint was chipped. However, the beautiful restaurants, resort amenities and amazing service made up for it.
