My wife and I spent three nights at Enchantment for our 10th wedding anniversary. It is a truly special place, and managed to exceed our already lofty expectations. The resort is located in a truly breathtaking natural setting, and we were able to take multiple excellent canyon hikes by walking right out of our casita. We had dinners at both on-site restaurants, and both were excellent. The facilities, including pool, tennis courts, pickleball courts, and bocce/croquet lawn were well maintained and added a nice touch. And most of all, the employees earned an A+ from us in terms of providing a welcoming and fun experience. Our bell hop John regaled us with an education on the local property and it's mystical properties, then even arranged for a few javelina stuffies to be brought up for us to take back to our kids! Everyone else we interacted with through the week showed the same level of cheer and helpfulness. We will definitely be back!

I enjoyed my second stay at Enchantment Resort earlier this month. I love the location, as many hiking trails are nearby and views of the red rocks are wonderful from the rooms and restaurants. There is the privacy of being at the end of a road and not in the middle of town, plus the quietness of rooms spread over a 70 acre resort compared to a busy single building hotel. As my goal was to enjoy hiking, I did not use a lot of the amenities of the resort, but did enjoy wonderful dinners in their restaurants, plus very helpful staff at check in and the Trail House. I had a junior suite which was quite spacious and pretty, and particularly enjoyed the fireplace on the January evenings. I look forward to future stays at Enchantment Resort!

I was at Enchantment this past weekend with my wife and two other couples celebrating our close friend's 40th birthday. We are all well-traveled and have stayed in many luxury hotels throughout the world, which I only mention for the "why you should care about this review" context - we had realistic expectations for experiences at this price point. Further, my wife and I live in a small town (Sonoma) that is heavily dependent upon tourism and hospitality, so we have an understanding and appreciation for how hard it is for service businesses to maintain adequate staffing, standards, and service culture. We are watching a lot of our friends go through this as owners of wineries, hotels, and restaurants. Having said all this, on to the review. Enchantment has a stunning location and the views are of the surrounding red rocks in the canyon are incredible, as every other reviewer indicates. This is, by far, the best attribute of this hotel, especially when you factor in the proximity to world-class hiking and mountain biking. That right there might be enough for some people. Our check-in process took 20 minutes as the valet misplaced one of the sets of rental car keys. No big deal, but annoying. The rooms are sub-par for this price point, but they are "nice." Just badly in need of a facelift. We had a 2 bedroom full casa and another casita king. The full casa is good for groups as it has a full kitchen and seating area that separates two king bedrooms. It was a nice place for all of us to hang out at night. The balcony overlooked the stunning red rocks ... and also a parking lot. The beds were not very comfortable. The food at this hotel is very good, which is nice because you are captive. Anything off property is a minimum of 15- 20 minutes away. We all thought the casual restaurant, Tii Gavo, was far superior to the fine dining restaurant Che Ah Chi, where we had a pretty awful experience. We went to Che Ah Chi for the birthday celebration on Saturday. We all went into the dinner knowing it would be very expensive and expecting things to be slow because of COVID, but we don't get to see each other very often and it was a special occasion, so were totally comfortable splurging on what would likely be an underwhelming service experience. To be crystal clear, we weren't expecting value or impeccable service. Despite our expectation of slow service, Che Ah Chi blew our expectations away. 30 minutes after sitting down, my friend is still without his cocktail. His martini arrives incorrectly made and in a tumbler. Two bottles of wine and more than an hour later, we don't have our appetizers. Two hours in, and on to the 4th bottle of wine and we are waiting for main courses. It was comical, as by the time we actually ate the restaurant was nearly empty. To the chefs' credit, the food was very good, but the service (even with the COVID factor) was inexcusable. I think we would have all been fine with it had a manager simply come over, apologized about the issues, and comped a round of margaritas or something, but we received no acknowledgment or apology of any kind for awful service at a $1,500 dinner. The Spa. It's under construction, and the services are performed in nice rooms. We all had at least one massage and one person had a facial. Everyone in the group seemed to speak highly of the therapists. I had two massages, one of which was with a male therapist despite my specifying a female therapist pre-arrival and reconfirming it again the week before. He did great job, but the "oh, I'm sorry, we had you down as no preference on male vs female" was irritating. My second massage was one of the more awkward spa experiences of my life. My therapist spent what felt like 15 minutes of a 60-minute massage on my face. Like, my entire face. Lips, nose, eyelids, even inside my ears (like a Q-Tip, I am not joking) ... all of the places you don't expect to or want to be touched. It was very weird, but my friends were highly entertained when I told them this story over lunch, so maybe it was worth it. Anyway, I am sick of typing. The location is amazing, the food is good, the service isn't up to par for a hotel at this price point and we left the resort very happy but not feeling like we ever need to come back. I tried to find a manager to discuss some of the service issues and he/she was not available. I politely asked for a phone call. I haven't received one yet.

Enchantment does not disappoint. There is no where else to stay in Sedona in the heart of the red rocks. Right out you window or steps away from your door. Beautiful views and so much to do. The resort blends in and harmonizes with the place in its food and activities offerings. It elevates you and transports you into a serene space.

We spent the 2nd week in January at Enchantment and had an amazing time. The views of the Red Rocks are stunning and watching the sun come up during breakfast was a real treat. We loved how close the resort was to several trails allowing us to beat the crowds that often made parking difficult. In fact, you have direct access to Boynton Train from the resort which provides two great hikes. 5-min down the roads (either direction) offers additional hikes to include Devil's Bridge, Birthing Cave, Doe Mountain Trail, and Fay Canyon. As a result, we got in 2-3 hikes a day without the need to drive all over Sedona. The food at the resort was also fantastic and provided a good selection across breakfast, lunch, and dinner with great service too. Wine drinkers will love the selection! The only downside was a large amount of construction going on at the resort. They are constructing a new spa (it looks huge) and doing repairs throughout the resort. The noise was only noticeable in the middle of the day, a time in which most people are out hiking anyway. As a result, it did not bother us much, and frankly for $500 a night (compared to the high season costs of $1k) a little noise is not a deal-breaker. The great service, location, and access to the outdoors all outweigh the construction.
