With sky high prices come sky high expectations and at $3200 a week, I naturally was very excited to spend a week here. My experience was very mixed, and if you're considering dropping this much cash, it's important to know what you'll get for your...More

I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the surf coaching element of your stay. It would have been a quick and easy fix/adjustment if only we would have known. The whole team, however, did get the impression that you were very...More
I took my 14 year old daughter with me to Kalon for a mother-daughter surfing trip, and we had an amazing time.
The best way to describe our experience, and Kalon as well, is ‘special.’ It was like no other vacation. The staff is incredible....More

I've just returned from a week at Kalon Surf. I traveled alone, as a relatively inexperienced surfer, so I was nervous on so many levels... but there was no need to be worried. From the moment Junior picked me up at the airport in San...More

Hi! It poured almost every day I was there, and I still had the best vacation of my life. And I loved sitting in the rocking chair on the porch outside my room, reading while the rain fell.
As for the comment from "k m," they're pretty obviously either working for or being paid by a competitor. The ride to the beach was one of my favorite parts of the day, getting to know my fellow guests and our coaches.
Oh: And the waves were perfectly predictable, as far as waves go. They're waves. I was the least-advanced surfer of the group while I was there, and the coaches took time out to stay with me and help me improve while the more advanced surfers paddled farther out and caught bigger waves, worked on turns, etc. Go to Kalon!

^^As a "real" person who visited the resort in January and had a fantastic trip, as did all the other guests, take the above comment with a grain of salt. Feel free to email me personally if you have any Kalon questions or doubt my authenticity. On your mosquito question, we did not experience any mosquitos (other bugs, yes (it is a jungle after all), but no mosquitos. The resort is on top of a mountain with breezes almost all the time which could cut down on mosquito population.
