Norlyn and Gabriela embody the welcoming Costa Rica "Pura Vida" spirit. The room was great, with a massive shower. A/C worked great. It's true that this property is not super close to the seaside (15 walk with backpacks), however: - the owner is happy to pick you up and drop you off in the village - further away from the...

We stayed at Cabinas Pura Vida for two nights. The rooms were clean and comfortable for a great price. The hosts went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. They were kind enough to store our luggage while we did an overnight tour in Corcovado and set up our water taxi back to Sierpe. Highly recommended!

The cabins are lovely, clean and tidy and so is the whole property. The staff are really friendly and helpful. They pick you up and drop you off from the boat. The breakfast is freshly cooked and tasty. The bed is reasonably comfortable. If it had a more luxurious mattress it'd be 5/5. The air-conditioning works very well. Now about...

We spent 3 lovely nights at Cabinas Pura Vida. There seems to be 2 types of accommodations in Drake - the very expensive all-inclusive lodges outside of town and everything else. The town is set off the beach with restaurants, a few grocery stores and guest houses/hostels on the steep, winding dusty roads. CPV is a bit up the hill...

Drake Bay is a great place to get a way from it all. small restaurants/clubs, 2 small grocery stores, and all dirt roads are a few things you should expect staying at Cabinas Pura Vida. The place itself is family run and has a really cozy feeling. While your room is pretty basic (no t.v. /coffee machine, bar fridge), you...

Stayed here for 4 nights and we were satisfied with it. The owner were very helpful and gave us suggestions about where we could go by car to se lovely surroundings and another beach than Drake bay. He could also help with tourbooking. The breakfast was included and they served us different ones every morning. It was absolute OK but...

Casa pura vida is a top place to be. We had a really good time with Norlyng and Gabi. Really clean rooms and bathrooms, breakfast is included and changes every day, fresh towels and sheets every few days, hammocks everywhere and a kitchen to make your own dinner. Norlyng brings you to whereever tours are starting and picks you up...

The room was basic but clean and well-maintained. The owner, Norlyn, did a fantastic job scheduling guided adventures for us. He knows the guides and they were all skilled, knowledgeable, and professional. The horseback ride to a waterfall was unexpectedly lovely. We rode in a stream surrounded by jungle and we were able to swim in clear water below the...

Four of us stayed here for 3 nights in December 2016. The owners were very nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and big enough for all of us. We really loved the large communal kitchen and BBQ and the hammocks out front - we could cook and the kids could chill and visit. The breakfast was good and the...

Service and kindness were great. Owner Norlyng Rojas was helpful in a any and all kinds of issues, such as transport, phone call to other lodges and our rental company etc. We even enjoyed a free barbecue when the village went out of electricity.

“No wash sinks, so be prepared to use shower to hand wash adventure clothes and other gear. The one aspect I did have an issue with is breakfast. It was coffee, two pieces of fruit and plain (small) white toast with option to spread jam or better. Pretty bleak offerings and the service starts at 7:30 AM which is waaayyy too late for adventure travelers who usually wish to set off early before sun gets too hot. The panaderia is just down the road in the center of town and there you can buy bread and drink coffee and generally hang with interesting people. He takes credit card so that's nice although rate goes up. If you plan on having dinner there, my experience in small restaurants of this nature the quality of experience may be excellent but slow so...if you are pressed or don't have much patience, order half hour prior to sitting down at tables.”
