This was one of my favorite places in Costa Rica. Stayed in one of the a/c rooms and would definitely recommend that. Personnel outstanding. Kayaks, books, games available. The food was, hands down, the best we ate in any hotel or restaurant in CR. Was served in an open-air area at two long tables with the other guests, whom we...

We were in two of the three newer rooms with air conditioning. Large and comfortable. The staff is outstanding and eager to please. The food - well, it was the best we had in Costa Rica - cannot say enough about that!

My friend and I are just finishing our 3-night stay at the Pirate Cove (Feb 2012). It's been a fantastic experience: The food was wonderful, the hotel staff were welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly, and the cabin was clean, well appointed, and, as described -- pretty much on the ocean -- save for a few palms, ferns, and a large tree...

We where there in dicembre, 3 people, accomodation in a triple room that was not that bad. The major problem was the food. We stay in Pirate cove 2 nights and 3 days, but we eat only vegetables for all the period. The last night we decided to go eating in the closes town, and there we eat a delicious...

These people said Pirate Cove was too expensive. They booked directly with us and knew in advance the prices and did not make any complaint either before or while staying with us. Each one paid the normal price of $95.00 per night, which included the room, all room taxes, three meals per day and coffee and snacks in the afternoon....

My wife and I stayed at the Priate Cove in mind December 2011 and absolutely loved it. We took the honey moon deal, which meant full board for 5 days and four nights, as well as four activities organized through the hotel. The food was superb - we did not have the same dish twice, neither for lunch nor dinner....

This is our 7th trip to Costa Rica. We have stayed at well over a dozen hotels. This was far and away the worst. The room had beds although it was nust myself and my wife. Zero amenities-- no coffee maker; walls so hin that the neighbouring cabin said they could see shadows through the wall; no sheets on the...

What a shame the couple never made a single criticism while they stayed with us, as we had no idea they were so unhappy. In any case, a number of their comments just don't correspond with reality at Pirate Cove. They said the room had beds but no sheets, which is hard to believe since they remained with us for...

I agree with the other reviews, fabulous staff, willing to go above and beyond! Excellent guides for the night hike, National Park and for horseback riding. We loved our cabina and hotel room, it was clean and comfy. They served an amazingly beautiful and tasty Christmas eve feast for guests We met wonderful travelers from around the world, especially ones...

We felt so welcome here! Very clean, friendly, helpfull and nice food. We did a couple of tours: snorkling, whales/dolphins, and horsebackriding and loved them all, Also did a lot of laundry with them without any problems. Used their canoes a lot to go croq-hunting with the kids. Loved it. Not extreme luxurious, but it's also not ment to be....

Our stay at Pirate Cove was amazing. Nelson and the entire staff could not have been more helpful or friendlier. Roy was a great guide for our jungle tour and Gustav made our snorkeling / whale watching trip wonderful . Every meal was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Again we wanted to thank everyone for making our stay at...

Booked 4 nites, stayed 5. The staff is much more than terrific, they really make your Drake experience above and beyond exceptional. The boat ride from Sierpe, landing on the beach in front of Pirate Cove was exciting and an adventure. Our 3rd boat landing in Drake, but first at this time of year so waves were high and exciting,...
