My week there felt like being welcomed into a big family. Every staff member was genuinely warm and caring. I loved watching wildlife everywhere on the beautiful property and the guided tours they arranged were top notch. . When I left, I wanted to turn around and go right back!
We had an incredible stay here! The staff was warm and welcoming, our room (the junior suite) and its view were splendid, and the food was fresh and delicious. The lodge offers a perfect mix of activities, places to explore, and beautiful beaches for relaxing and enjoying the sun and waves. I usually only go to places one time, but I would return to Aguila de Osa. It is magical.
Be prepared for a magical experience you will never forget. The scenery is beautiful, wildlife can be found everywhere, the staff is always helpful and friendly and by the end you will be planning your next trip there.
We were at Aguila de Osa 3 nights in early December and enjoyed every minute of our time there. Not only were the rooms lovely and elegant, but the grounds were full of tropical plants that attracted many birds and other animals. We sat on our balcony for hours with binoculars and kept finding new birds and iguanas. It never rained while we were there, and it was before the busy tourist season got going. We went snorkeling, had a 4-hour tour at Corcovado NP, and a night tour, all with excellent guides. We kept saying, "We are in the Garden of Eden". We felt we had found Paradise at this location. The dining area was wonderful, with a family-style eating arrangement where we could visit with other guests. The food was delicious and elegant. All the staff are incredibly gracious and nice and contributed to making our entire experience especially wonderful. One thing to note about this location, there are a lot of stairs to climb to get to the rooms, but after the second day we noticed we were getting muscles in our legs and finding it easier and easier, and even enjoyable. And healthy! Loved the remoteness of this location, and the boat trip to the lodge from Drake Bay. Saw lots of animals: monkeys, macaws, crocodiles, an ant eater, so many exceptionally beautiful birds, iguanas and other lizards. …
Our experience at the Aquila de Osa Lodge was great but unfortunately spoiled by very heavy, very unseasonable rains. The staff and guides were excellent, the food very good and the staff very accommodating for our dietary requirements. Whilst we were there, it was my wife's birthday and they provided a wonderful flower arrangement, a birthday cake and a celebratory march - fantastic. One thing to note is the cabins are at least 80 stairs up the hill side which was a bit of a challenge after a day out.
Service was great and the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. We were given instructions the evening before about events for the next day, which was very helpful. Food was delicious! Beautiful setting. Our stay was the highlight of our trip and we look forward to returning in the near future.
We stayed in 6 different hotels on our Costa Rica family adventure and Aguila de Osa was our unanimous favourite. Highlights: -Osa Peninsula is an amazing location -nature and wildlife is abundant -setting - beautiful and unique rooms, dotted amongst the jungle overlooking the sea. Super comfortable beds and wrap around private verandas with views. Sleeping to the sound of wildlife and the sea lapping the shore, waking to monkeys running across the roof and birdsong. -Friendly, enthusiastic staff who seemed to really enjoy their job. Brad, the Manager, was always present, chatting to guests and helping his staff. - Fresh, tasty and distinctive food and cocktails, the best we tried in Costa Rica - during our 3 night stay we enjoyed a mangrove boat tour, snorkelling trip, Corcovado hike, kayaking and night walk with our children aged 10 & 11 yrs Lowlights - it’s a journey to get there but worth every mile. We’ll be recommending this lodge to all our friends.…
We wanted nature and that is in abundance at Aguila de Osa with monkeys, parrots, toucans and tropical birds. We enjoyed river kayak, snorkeling trip, night tour, Corcovado tour, and birding tour. Great guides, attentive staff, world class trip.
We stayed at Aguila de Osa for 3 nights. The Lodge overall is nice, also the rooms are good, a little bit outdated. The service is impressive and the staff is super friendly. They try to do everything for a nice stay. Everything is organized and they inform the guest the evening before, so that you know when the tours are starting and lunch/dinner times. We did the snorkeling and the jungle hike tour with them. The snorkeling tour we enjoyed a lot, the hike is not really a hike, it's more a walk along the coast. It does not go deep into the jungle unfortunately. We enjoyed our stay a lot. Only thing we critize: - It's a little bit overpriced - They literally threw us out on the last day, the boat to Sierpe left at 7:30am and we couldn't enjoy breakfast. It's not very nice to eat in a hurry and then sit in a wild hourly boat ride with a full stomach.…
Cannot say enough about this place. The setting is perfect, on a bluff overlooking Drake Bay, a short walk to town and beach(es). The rooms are spacious, all with views, and stay cool with fans and vaulted ceilings. The in-house tours are well organized, with great guides and if you do work with an outside tour (we did for an overnight to Sirena Ranger Station in Corcovado), the staff are super helpful in helping with logistics. It's this latter measure-- the staff-- that truly make Aguila special. The whole team is amazing, and Cristina in particular was a one-woman reception/ concierge/ fixer/ manager/ overall dynamo. The wait staff take time to learn not just your names, but dietary quirks, and the kitchen team come through (nearly) every time. The use of local and seasonal foods is wonderful, but of course limited at times, and after a 6 day stay there was a little repetition in dinner options, but that is to be expected from a place rooted in the right values. Overall, the best place we've stayed in CR, hands down. Oh, and the early wake up calls of capuchins sprinting across the rooftops only added to the delightful ambiance...…
