Chi-ya is a lovely retreat from the craziness of San Pedro. It has beautiful views of the lake and I highly recommend taking the canoe out for an hour or so. The location is half way between the two villages, taking about 15 minutes either way. Note, if you do a tour to Indian Nose, our tour agency picked us...

When we arrived (with a reservation), nobody seems to be there. Finally a man popped up and it turned out he was the husband of the owner. But he was not used to receive guests... So it was not a warm welcome. But the rooms were very comfortable with a great view across the lake for a reasonable price!!! Lot...

One of the best places to stay in the Lake, chilled, beautiful view, amazing and friendly staff and I can honestly say this is a jewel! Also, you can get any tuc tuc drivers phone to drive you to and back to san pedro if you want to party out but don't wanna stay in a Party hostel. Definitely worth...

I lived on the lake for 1 year so knew this place existed. But when we got there it was breathtaking! We got the top apartment that had a full kitchen which is great if you plan to stay more than a few days. A huge wrap around deck. Ceiling to floor windows in the bedroom. If you want to...

We found this lovely spot after deciding to leave the hustle and bustle of San Pedro. It is absolutely gorgeous and secluded. It was a wonderful way to enjoy the lake with stunning views of lakes and mountains. It's a quick walk into town to San Juan. We loved spending time in San Juan - a quiet town that feels...

We stayed in an apartment which was huge with fantastic wrap around deck. We found it very relaxing and a great place to sit out on the deck and take in the lake views. Owners left us to our own devices but were on hand if needed. We had a fridge and full cooking facilities so it was very nice...

We stayed here for a single night but wish it could have been a lot longer! The views from the cabin are undoubtedly the best in town, with a perfect view over the lake and Indians Nose. The cabin itself was huge with panoramic windows so you could even kick back and relax inside if you preferred. We stayed at...

For people who are used to or interested in an Eco lodge this hotel is my pick in Guatemala. I have stayed with them repeatedly, and I'll continue to do so because the quality and privacy of their property allows me to sleep, relax and always see new animals or birds. They have very nice rooms that are close to...

Hotel Chi-ya ticked all the boxes and more for our stay. It MADE our stay. My partner was looking for somewhere to live and work for a few weeks but we loved this place so much we stayed for 2 months! We were backpacking on a budget but staying for 1 month worked out the same per night as the...

“If you travel alone the rooms at the entrance are very good and simple with working wifi, If you choose a bungalow you can have a variety of amenities depending on the one you book. You can have a bathtub, or kitchen or a place with several beds to accommodate a group of friends or family. Call ahead and ask specifically about what is available.”
