There are a number of reasons to stay here. The staff are friendly and helpful. The facilities are spotless. Its far more economical than actually staying at the grand canyon but allows easy access. There is a lot of history here. The motel was built in the 1930s I believe. We

We rented a caboose in October. It was a fun experience to get to stay in a caboose and for my kids to sleep in a bunk bed. We didn't spend much time in the shop, as they were having a maintenance issue, but it looked nice, and the woman at the desk was friendly. The woods are

This place is beautiful and serene. The facilities clean and the staff were nice. Our only issue (keeping this from a 5 star review) was that we could not use the laundry room to keep warm. It was really cold (30s), we were truck camping in a tent sight. There was not one

Thank you for your feedback. The folks doing laundry appreciated your moving your camp back to your campsite. The laundry room is for guests who are in the process of working on their laundry. Our average temperatures during this time of year does dip into the 20’s at night. The temperatures and sunrise and sunset times are posted daily in our office for our guests to assist in planning their activities. Safe travels!

We booked the caboose because my grandson loves trains. The caboose was comfortable and accommodated 5 of us. The main bedroom was a little cramped but hey it was a caboose. It was close to McDonalds so we could get breakfast easily. This is a quaint little place.

Thank you for your feedback Mr. and Mrs. Brown, however a there are some items I will clarify. We are a very busy Motel and RV park and what makes us unique is we are not a chain, but a preserved 1940’s Route Motor Court Motel including a 1950’s Retired Pullman car , two 1929 Retired Santa Fe Cabooses and an RV Park. When you check in, you are asked to utilize the visitor/motel registration parking lot and explained where to park including right in front of your room. RV check in area is in front of the office area due to accommodating several RV’s at one time. You mentioned you parked in a “non-authorized” area, but the area has a sign “Reserved for Housekeeping equipment” and a “No Parking” sign. The area is tight and with so much vehicle traffic and foot traffic with the pool and the little ones about, we ask for our guests to assist us in keeping traffic flowing and everyone being vigilant of pedestrians. You stated you were “kicked out”for parking in a “non-authorized area”. You were asked to leave because of your verbal treatment to the gentleman who was attempting to assist you and redirect your parking efforts. When you initially checked in we make every attempt to welcome you and offer information on our office hours of opening at 8 am and closing at 10 pm. We also discuss where the parking lot for the office is for the reasons stated above. As far as the actual train room description from you, the 1950’s retired Pullman car was converted into 1950’s period suites with modern amenities of most motel rooms including a coffee pot, cable TV, refrigerator, microwave and wifi. I apologize if the temperature was not what you were expecting in your room. During this time of year, it is cooler and we leave it up to arriving guests to select their preferred temperatures in the rooms.

The air conditioning was probably not strong enough to get the room ice box cold, but it met our needs. If we remember correctly. The big advantage to being in Arizona is that you don't have to worry about the humidity. I would book to stay there in August.

Do you have an off leash dog area in your RV park?
Yes we sure do... we are surronded by the Kaibab National Forest and most of our guests love to take there pets into this area. This is Mother Natures backyard and pets can run free here and enjoy themselves! Hope this helps
