I think the reviews of this campsite are a little unfair.
We stayed here for two nights early October in a camper van. The campsite was in a great location for exploring Lake Myvtan and the surrounding area.

Myvatn is an extremely popular destination and we would recommend booking very very early. If you don’t (like us!), you may end up staying in a place like this!

From a camper van standpoint this was a good campground. Hot showers included in the price. Be advised the shower is 'communal' aka multiple shower heads in one room. I always showered at night never saw anyone else there.

My friends and I are heading to camp here September 2017. Your review confirms that it will be open that time of year in September! I was wondering though how we could make our payments. Were credit cards accepted or is it more of a cash on hand kind of thing?

I think you can pay with credit card but we made the reservation through Booking. The place is very nice abd the spot amazing.
