This small hotel is located directly on a small river and beside a fairly active geothermal area. The rooms are small but functional and we enjoyed our stay. Please walk all around the hotel as the walking path lead to many interesting sights.
Gracious service and fabulous amenities -- 3 geothermal outdoor pools, sauna, good hiking, private balconies, excellent breakfast. I'm afraid this experience ruined us when we got to Ion Adventure Hotel expecting a similar experience, but many times more luxurious commensurate with its price. We were...More
The entire staff was welcoming and friendly. The hotel itself was quaint and charming. It's not what us Americans would classify as a 4 star hotel only because it doesn't have the "luxury" aspect. Rather, it has a rustic aspect. They also have a friendly...More
We based our selves here for 3 nights, two couples. We both had rooms overlooking the river and mountains/hills which makes for a nice view. Rooms have a small terrace with chairs but due to the rain, we did not get to utilise them, would...More
Stayed at this hotel based on previous reviews and it was better than we expected. Check in included a tour of the property and showing us our room. They have two hot tubs, a steam room, and a pool, good trails to hike, and a...More

The easiest way to get here from the airport is to take a taxi but of course that is also the most expensive way. We have a fixed price with a local taxi driver, with him airport transfer costs 27.000 ISK. You can also take the local bus from the airport to our town of Hveragerði. The bus stops 15 minutes ( walking) away from our hotel, webpage: straeto.is and bsi.is
You can also contact Iceland activities, a local tour operator. I know they pick people up from the airport but unfortunately I do not know how much it might cost. You can contact them directly trough their webpage: icelandactivities.is
You could also check with grey line the bus company, they used to have buses that stopped in Hveragerði, their webpage is: grayline.is
Have a lovely day
