Hotel Edda is a student accommodation, used as a hotel when students are at home for holiday. I found the rooms big and comfortable, everyone with its own bathroom. The common space available at our floor was not really big: it was provided with a table and enough chairs, along with sofas, but the kitchen was little and poorly furnished. For this reason, we’ve got to find an alternative place to eat for dinner.

More hostel like than hotel like. Only open in the summerholiday - rest of the year is it a school. Two beds on each side of the room. Bath and restroom in the hallway. The breakfast was absolutely and quite suprisely ekstremly delicius.

A nice summer hotel (school for the rest of the year), with very clean rooms and a good breakfast. Dinner was nice and staff very friendly. A good location and at walking distance to a shop to get some groceries.

Stayed one night as part of a Danish group tour around Iceland. Nice place in a beautiful surroundings. Our first experience of a Edda and a good one. It think it a university accommodation for most of the year. Quite simple decorated and lack some atmosphere. The place were clean. We had a nice spacious room overlooking the lake and great view. Our beds were comfortable and with nice duvets. The free wifi were very good. Plenty of power outlets for charging different devises. The breakfast were rather good, served as a buffet and displayed in a nicely way. We had a fixed dinner, salmon or sheep. Both beautiful displayed on the dish and a big portion too. And tasted very good. Very friendly and service minded staff.

Stayed three nights here, and used it as a base camp to tour southern Iceland. Perfect for what we needed--spartan but clean with a very friendly and helpful staff. Included breakfast was excellent and varied--something for everyone. We enjoyed having a common area where we could gather and review the day, enjoy an adult beverage, and plan the next adventure. Not a posh place, but perfect for adventure travelers looking for a safe, clean, comfortable spot.

This hotel resembled an older school residence but was extremely clean and staff were very friendly. Breakfast was delicious with all the options we required ( including waffles for the kids) . There was a lounge upstairs that had comfy couches and movies on demand, rentals were free and movie selection was great. Not many people seemed to use this option , but there was board games as well. Overall check in was quick and easy and above all the scenery was breathtaking!

My husband and I stayed here for two nights. The hotel is a bit old, but clean and well maintained. The options for breakfast were very nice with lots of variety. The view off the back porch is beautiful! Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

We were planning to tent camp on this night but it was pouring down rain so we decided to look for a hotel. We found Hotel Edda on Trip Advisor and they had rooms for $70. The room was perfect for what you paid for. There were two beds and a sink in each room and shared bathrooms (they have private available for more money). The facilities were super clean and the host shared with us some 'must dos' in Iceland. It worked out great!

Hotel was reasonably nice - great having our own bathroom again! Friendly staff. Clean. No breakfast. My only surprise was that there were no blackout curtains. Every other hotel had them! Easy walking to a spa and a very nice restaurant called the Linden. Did not try the restaurant at the hotel. Very nice lounge area.
