Beautiful space in a lovely small village by a lake. The guesthouse is full of history and charm without compromising cleanliness or modern amenities. If we had stayed longer, I would have explored the library and curled up on the couch with a book!

Friendly staff, working hard to meet many guests’ requests. Dinner was great, with vegan and GF catered for. Excellent value overall. Would recommend as a stop to Gullfoss and Geysir. Suits families, solo travellers and those with a relaxed attitude.

Lovely quirky guesthouse right next to Laugarvatn Fontana. The blonde girl at reception and for breakfast was particularly nice and friendly. There was good choice for breakfast and the fresh bread was great.

We didn’t stay at the hostel, but we were staying nearby and went for dinner one night, and went back the next night after dinner for a drink. Thoroughly enjoyed both visits. The staff were superb, really lovely and welcoming and happy to chat. The food was really tasty and good value, generous portions. The style of food was quite wholesome local food, and although the menu was small, they were careful to have options to suit a range of tastes (vegan, fish, meat). The place was comfortable and the dining room had great views over the lake. Highly recommended!

I learned that the hostel was built from what used to be a school, innovative concept. The dining room and recreational area had a classic vibe with beautiful views of the lake, and the decor (paintings, furniture) antique. Geothermal baths nearby+serious good food are a bonus!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The Guesthouse is historic, charming, and beautiful updated. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating, we had a delicious dinner and breakfast in the lovely dining room. I wholeheartedly recommend this guesthouse!

We stayed two nights at Héradsskolinn guesthouse. We just loved this cosy former old school with great views and so kind and friendly staff. Dan gave us a lot of great sightseeing tips. Next time we would stay longer. Thank for the wonderful stay :)

We stayed one night at the Guesthouse in a large family room with 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Good dinner and buffet breakfast. A quirky building in a good location, we would stay here again.

Very beautiful guesthouse in the middle of nowhere with a very nice view! We had a very good meal and a very good breakfast at the cosy restaurant! Enjoyed it very much! Would definitely come again and stay longer!
