Owner is friendly and helpful enough, but room only has a bed, shower was outside and disappointing; bathroom was shared, but I knew that before we came here. But to pay CAD 150 for that and having to pay for a cup of tea if not used during breakfast is really too much. Two good things: bed was nice and...

Staff friendly and good location. BUT very disappointing: - Toilets are shared with at least 9 people (even happened to be blocked.. Let you imagine the result..) - Room is very small and very loud. - No daily cleaning. - 2 showers outside and shared. - Kitchen very messy.

It was quite different from the photos online. The grass was over a foot high in the back and the place was cluttered with items inside and out. It felt like you were staying in someone's home and arrived unexpectedly. There was family laundry hanging by the sauna and in the common shower. One shared toilet for 12 and the...

Great stories from the very Icelandic owner, a sweet pup named "Magic" (English translation), beds and rooms crafted in traditional style like you see in the folk museums, a wonderful very warm pool and a hot hot tub. If you like rustic Icelandic you'll love this. I certainly did. If, on the other hand, you need a spacious room, find...

The guesthouse appeared better from the photos in booking sites than it actually was. It is basically two small cottages compined with common dining area. + Hot Tub + Wlan + Dog +/- Breakfast (very very basic) - Noice from the common area (kitchen and living room) and bathroom is really bothersome if you're not the first one to wake...

We walked into the guesthouse at 10pm and discovered our booking had been trumped by a larger party. The owner did not contact us - we contacted him to discover this information. The larger party had a late reservation but, with more people, obviously they provided the owner with better earnings so he tossed us out in the cold -...

We intended to stay at this guesthouse for one night. We had a booking through an online agent and it was confirmed. We arrived at the guesthouse on the evening of our booking to discover that our booking had been cancelled and instead the guesthouse had elected to take a booking from a larger party. We spent 30 minutes wandering...

We arrived around just as it grew very dark, and it was a bit tricky to find (look for the small sign), and were greeted by the host, Valur, as we pulled in. He checked us in and gave us a quick tour of the grounds: the pool and shower, the common area, and directed us to our quaint wooden...

Staff is extremely friendly, we spent hours speaking about cultural differences. Great place to stay. Sauna, pool, TV saloon, nice breakfast. It is near Geysir and other attractions. Great place to rest.

“We had the room on the top floor and the bathroom is downstairs. For us it's been a good choice but if you don't want to do the stairs in the middle of the night, choose a room on the ground floor.”

“The top floor rooms are wonderful if you can get one. They each have a skylight, and you can open the windows at night for some fresh air!”
