We were very fortunate to sight the aurora borealis just at the back of this hotel by the river! The front desk staff was great, informing everyone who passes by his desk about the appearance of Aurora!! The hotel is very comfortable! Tea & coffee with kettle in room for a quick cuppa in the morning. Always warm indoors, so...

The hotel is smart and clean, the restaurant, bar and spa are modern and stylish. The furniture and room decor was a little dated in comparison however our room over looked the river and had stunning views over to the mountains in the distance and up the river across the bridge. The facilities were good with everything we needed for...

Absolutely stunning view from the restaurant, right on the river and it snowed whilst we were here which was great. Breakfast wasn't amazing but it filled us up, Skyr with the fruit compote was my favourite. Rooms were clean, bit out dated but extremely comfortable, although VERY hot! A must try is the restaurant across the road, best lamb I've...

Room was lovely, very spacious and well appointed. The room was clean and looked out onto the river. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant were lovely too. The food was really good. The only down was breakfast was a bit chaotic due to the large number of guests.

A clean, well designed hotel at the crossroads of Selfoss. Good base for touring, eg Golden Circle, and east. Don't stay in Reykjavik; I suggest going right from the airport to this hotel. Rooms are clean and functional and attractive. Breakfast is the standard Icelandic hotel buffet, but perhaps one step up from the average you encounter. Lovely dining room...

This was a great hotel, very friendly staff, had everything you would need. Large rooms and very clean. Breakfast was the best we had in Iceland with cooked breakfast, continental and even a waffle maker (nice touch). Would stay again. Also a great place to see the northern lights as it wasn't far to go out of the town and...

Just returned from a 4-night trip to Iceland, 2 of which were on a B&B basis at the Hotel Selfoss. Our 4th floor room was a good size, warm & comfortable, & we loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom. The slight sulphur smell from the geothermally-heated hot water was a little odd, but not overpowering. All staff we met...

We stayed for 2 nights as part of a brilliant tour with Snaeland Travel. A great base from which to explore the Golden Circle. The hotel is great, warm and welcoming and the staff are really helpful. The rooms are large with great facilities. Importantly happy hour is from 4pm til 7pm (you need to know these things in Iceland)....

My wife and I spent two nights at Hotel Selfoss along our honeymoon of Iceland. This place was just what we needed. The breakfast was the best layout we experienced in Iceland. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was great. The room was spacious and quiet, as we were at the very end of the second floor...

Spent two nights here earlier this week as part of a trip to Iceland. The hotel itself is set on the river banks (which provided a good view from our room window) and is close to some good restaurants (as well as having its own excellent restaurant, The Riverside Restaurant, which we ate in on the first night – and...
