Dined here recently at the Shirley Arms. Lovely good quality food and friendly and helpful staff. Nice ambiance, good parking facilities, good selection of food on the menu. Overall would highly recommend!

Really impressed with this hotel! Very spacious, modern room with a large en suite and double shower. Lots of choice for breakfast and good food. One small drawback was that the room was way too warm, but we only stayed one night so it wasn't a huge problem. Friendly, helpful staff that are happy to help - couldn't ask for...

I booked a table in the restaurant for a small family get together to surprise my parents. The staff could not have been more helpful. I told them my plan was a surprise and they went out of their way to help me out. From offering to keep my cake and gifts at the hotel from the morning of the...

On Sunday we decided to go here for lunch. I had salmon in a delicious sauce. Its a treat to have sauce being a coeliac. My husband had roast beef which he said was the best he had eaten in a long time. The staff were very helpful and the dessert delicious. Will definitely go here again

the reception staff were very pleasant, helpful and polite. the bedroom was smaller than expected and the chairs in the room were not very comfortable. the bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was luxurious. the hotel is in the heart of the town. overall i can forgive the small room and would go back again.

This is an old established hotel that was expanded and modernised during the Celtic Tiger years. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was efficient. The rooms are spartan for a 'four star' hotel with bare floorboards. A small mat on the floor each side of the bed would make a big difference! Also the provision of biscuits with the...

The whole experience of the Shirley Arms was fantastic. We rarely use hotels but boy did we hit it right with this one. From checking in ( we were allowed to check in early as no one had used our room the previous night) to checking out we were made to feel welcome, looked after and so relaxed. The food...

We stay here a lot with work. The hotel is in 2 parts, the front of the building being older than the more modern back. The "newer" rooms are large with usual facilities shower, tv, brew making facilities. The bar is friendly and inviting and full of locals, there's a roaring fire in winter. The food is excellent and the...

Dropped in today for lunch. We both had a Seafood Chowder starter. This was lovely, plenty of fish and a nice base. Served with seeded bread. The main course I chose was the Beef and my partner had the Pork pie. Both were served with "Puréed carrot" which would need a straw or spoon to eat. The potatoes were similar...
