It's a good thing we used a taxi to get to the hotel as it would have been a bit of a challenge to find. Our room was underwhelming but at least it was clean for our two night stay. Our room faced a side street with neighbors dogs barking and the church bell were quite noticable. The breakfast at the hotel was OK but not great. My opinion of the resturant for dinner does drop off as it is high priced and wouldnt recommend however the view is spectacular. We did take a quick dip in the pool but it was too cold to really enjoy. Was expecting more from this hotel with the rating.
We found a lovely hotel with a quiet, modern room, but even with the GPS it was hard to find. Parking was almost impossible. The "10-mnute walk" to the beach was probablyaccurate, but the all uphill return would have taken far longer. Staff were less warm than at other's we stayed at in Portugal, but they gave us good advice about not trying to walk many places. The spa was closed the 2 days we were there.
There are different areas affiliated with the hotel which I didn't know about. We booked an apartment which was located across the street. To access the main pool and hotel amenities you need to walk over. The apartment was very basic and the bathroom wasn't very clean. Needs updating for sure. Small rooms, and beds not very comfortable. Main pool area has a very nice view over Nazare. It looks like they have an outdoor hot tub but it's a small kiddy pool. The indoor pool belongs to the spa so its seperate. Outdoor patio bar is nice. Unfortunately they had no propane to light the heat lamps during the chilly night. To play the billiards pool table you need to pay. Hotel is a good walk to the beach but they do offer shuttle service during certain hours which you need to prebook Overall the hotel was very basic.…
We stayed 2 nights in the hotel. It might have been a 4 star hotel a few years ago but definetely not anymore. The rooms had carpeted flooring and ours smelled. We brought it to the attention of the receptionist, but she mumbled that it was the airconditioning. The airconditioning didnt work, neither did the minifridge. We asked if someone could look at it. The receptionist said she would ask, but we have the feeling that no one did. It didnt work while we stayed there. We felt not taken serious. Breakfast is ok. Nothing special. We would never recommend this hotel. It is overpriced for what you get. We were happy to leave again.
This hotel's only positive aspect is it's location. The customer service was terrible. The employees were not welcoming and actually seemed annoyed by simple questions. This included the waitstaff at the restaurant. Two of the members of our party accidentally left their passports in the room safe and by the time they realized this, we were more than 3 hours away. When we called, the person on the phone seemed not to know what to do. Once it seemed clear that they would send them overnight to our next location, they didn't do that. It took 6 days for them to be received despite billing the traveler for expedited service. This resulted in great expense and a two day delay in travel home.
