My husband and I stayed at the Riu Arecas end of September beginning of October 2016 and had a lovely stay. The rooms were immaculately clean with bedding and towels changed daily. We did not see one bug, which is rare in hotter climates. The staff were lovely and could not do enough for you. The pools at the hotel...

Plus points: Great location Adults only Superb service, nothing was too much trouble Delicious food Terrific "Beach Club" Things RIU might consider doing to improve the place: Dumbells in the gym, the lack of free weights for someone who doesn't do machines is a sad oversight Poolside and Beach Club beds have stretched and make lying comfortably difficult, either tighten...

We have stayed here many times over the last 10 years or so and it is still a good hotel. However since the refurbishment we feel it has lost its personal touch.Open seating in restaurant was disappointing as always had allocated tables. The dining room now has lost its classy feeling it is now like a canteen and has lost its ambience.It...

The hotel is well run and if you can cope with buffet dining , this is a first class resort. Our third visit and their artificial beach with infinity pool is a tremendous facility. The beach at sea front was under construction during our visit and will soon provide another facility for bathers.

Visited 17th - 27th February. The best service we have ever received anywhere - could not be faulted. Special mention to Daniel on reception who couldn't have done more. Also mention for Yuri as a bar waiter (day & night). What a star! Even the young guy dishing out the towels by the pool was a character. Room (5046) top floor...

We stayed at the Riu Arecas from 21 February 2017 for 10 days. On arrival we were asked to sit in reception while they sorted the guests arriving before us but we were all given a refreshing drink while we waited. Our cases were then taken to our rooms 1093, 1097 and 1098. These had views over to the local...

We stayed in the RIU Arecas for eleven nights in February. I e mailed them requesting a high room in a quiet spot with a good view. They replied that as we had only booked a standard room, for a pool or sea view there was an extra charge:but they would do their best. We were more than pleased with...

Mature and polite older generation from ALL countries. No children. No sunbed issues! Polite and attentive Hotel Staff. Wonderful location, some beach modifications at the present time. Evening Dinner may be off putting to some with a buffet style. Writer preferred the adjoining Spanish Style Restaurant , which did not incur additional charges. We will return.

We stayed at the RIU Arecas in Tenerife from 28th January - 7th February 2017 on a Half Board basis for 10 Nights and were allocated Room 3052. This hotel now has 2 category of Rooms which are: Non-Pool View Room or Pool View Room and there is a supplement for the latter so it is important to specify when...
