This hotel is in downtown Fribourg. We parked the car in a parking place that was not close to the hotel, which was a little bit of a hassle with the bags. It is expensive to park there - 20 euros for less than 24 hours. But the downtown area was beautiful with restaurant and shops in an old spirit.... More

I stayed at this hotel for one night after attending a concert at the Fri-Son. My room was on one of the higher floors and was quiet and peaceful with a view over the roofs of the surrounding old town buildings. Although rather plain, the room was very neat and clean and provided a surprising amount of storage space. A... More

For some reason it was not available at travel resources I trust, so I reserved the hotel directly by email. The personnel was helpful, and the process was very simple. Hotel is located on a pedestrian street close to the station. Everything was good, beginning with price (lower that other hotels we stayed in Switzerland) to location, to personnel, to... More

The Hotel du Fauon in Fribourg seemed like a nice location in the older section of town but within a very short walk from the more modern section. We arrived early evening and left very early morning, so we did not explore the town more than a walk around after anything but restaurants had closed. We were tired and needed... More

We arrived with a coach, and for that reason the hotel was not well situated, ca. 8 minutes on foot up the hill from the cathedral. But for individual travelers by train the location is great since you can just walk down. Then, one can easily walk from there down to the cathedral, and then further down to the river.... More

Best out of four hotels I've tried in Fribourg. Clean, modern, spacious bedroom; good Italian restaurant. Friendly. Nice class of guest, if I'm allowed to say that. And it was the lowest cost. What's not like?

We were pleasantly surprised by the Hotel du Faucon. At check-in, we were informed that we had originally been put in a room at the front of the hotel, but that since we were travelling with a baby they had moved us to a quiet room at the back. This worked out perfectly. As other reviewers have mentioned, room layout... More

We came to Switzerland after 4 days in Germany. This hotel is quiet, but it is understaffed and stuffy. There is no staff after 9 pm, and there was hardly anyone around to help us out, we had to figure out a lot of stuff on our own (including the fact that the grocery stores close at 7pm, when we... My husband and I had just moved to Fribourg and needed a hotel for one night; luckily we stumbled across this hotel on TripAdvisor! We don't speak French, but when we wandered in off the street the day before checking in, the gal in reception understood enough English to communicate with us, which was very welcome. She had a room... More

This little gem is right in the middle of the fun! While it is right in the "old city," it was quiet, comfortable, and a great price. We planned to stay one night but liked it so much, we stayed a second. The room was large, had two separate beds, a kitchenette (unfortuantely our stove/oven did not work while we... More

“I had a single room, number 51, which was fine for me, would be OK but tight for two people. The maids showed me the double rooms on the floor while they were cleaning which were better. All have mini-kitchens. Creative layout results in trapezoidal shaped rooms, which some have commented on negatively. I liked it.”
