Lovely pub, great atmosphere and the staff were polite and attentive. The food was very good. The Gala pie starter was unique and extremely tasty and the venison main was perfectly cooked and the venison black pudding was a stand out highlight. Had the Apple and custard slice for dessert and was lovely. Was surprisingly reasonable price wise too. Would...

Wonderful welcome as you walk through the door, very attentive staff. The dining experience was exceptional, with little details to enhance flavours, and will remain in the memory for a very long time. The best pub food you will ever have, it was a wonderful evening.

I was bought dinner here as a present from my wife . I was worrying on the way that I might feel uncomfortable and not really fit in with Michelin star dining. As soon as I walked through the door I totally felt at ease. We were sat down in the bar with a drink whilst we waited to be...

We had a fantastic experience in the hand and flowers. On arrival we were made very welcome and we sat in the lounge whilst waiting for the table and having a drink. We were sat by the fire and we were blown away by the amazing simple design and warmth of the atmosphere. Coming from Gloucester ourselves, we appreciated the...

I have loved Tom kerridge for a while and always wanted to go to the Hand &Flowers My partner took me for my birthday a 2 years ago (not the date on the review, it would go back far enough) initially we thought we were a bit out of our depth but the staff made us feel welcome, looked after...

We live about 4 hrs drive from this place, so not a case of just dropping in. Consequently we spent about 2 years actually trying to visit. We were fortunate to be in the area and call literally (we were told) as someone else cancelled. YIPPEE!!! The food was amazing from beginning to end. Really simple ingredients lifted to an...

We had dinner in the Hand and Flowers with my wife and were really happy with the quality of the food and the capacity that the Chef had to turn standard pub dishes into much more elegant food. Moreover the prices were more than adequate and even low for a two star michelin restaurant. However if I compare it to...

We have been here 3 or 4 times over the last 3 years and the food is always amazing. It is everything you could hope for. The only negative is on our most recent visit some of the customers think they are food critics and were quite rude to the staff. This place is special. enjoy it !

It takes a while to get a booking for the restaurant but it was worth it. The food was great and the staff very attentive. It is an expensive restaurant for what is a casual setting, but the team and the thought process behind the menu make a visit worth it.
