For: Spa facilities, Service, Location Against: Hotel is dated and needs a refurb, no atmosphere, food overated and expensive, wine overly priced. Where do you go nowadays and pay £27 for a sir.ion steak and have to pay an additional £3.50 for chips or £3.50 for vegs. Wine £30 plus a bottle. Recommendation: stay on a B&B rate and enjoy...

Booked this hotel direct for a wedding as I thought it would be the best deal, paid 157 which was a lot cheaper than the 212 originally quoted on Internet. I now see it on booking.com for 106.00 for bed and breakfast which seems more realistic, phoned hotel and they were not interested in my query. Not very good customer...

Beautiful and spacious accommodation. Friendly welcome and relaxed atmosphere. Pool and spa are well worth a visit. An ideal hotel for a family get together or short break. Easy to walk to town along the beach, over the golf course. A stunning setting by the sea, with large windows offering great views.

We had the most amazing stay at The Marine, the staff were amazing, very attentive and were great with our 18 month old little boy. The views are just beautiful and the spa lovely. We will definitely be back.

All aspects of this hotel are super, Attentive staff ,menu was varied and food of a high standard. The spa facilities are some of the best we have seen. My only gripe is the , in my opinion , is a slightly expensive wine list.

Room was great, clean with excellent views. Food was very good and staff friendly. Drinks expensive but other than that no negatives. Spa bath and therapy were clean and very relaxing. Would definitely return.

I love going to a good spa hotel, and I'd been recommended to try the Marine, and whilst the Spa facilities were pretty good i have to say that i was disappointed in the rest of the hotel, and to my view it really didn't live up to the rave reviews I'd heard. The good bits - the view is...

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Macdonald marine hotel and spa in north Berwick for 2 nights from the 29th-31st March 2016 for a short break with his parents and so my boyfriend and his dad could have a round of golf! The location of this hotel is fantastic, with panoramic views over the coast and golf course. However...

Lovely spa get away. Room, spa and breakfast were great. However evening bar meal VERY poor and over priced. Food seemed to have just been reheated and only one poor member of staff on doing everything. VERY disappointing.

Good point: Great location, lovely views. Nice decor on reception / bars / restuarant Foreign staff Improvements: Scottish staff need training / smile Beds need to be presented nicer. Staff should clear wet areas around pool more often.
