This was our 6th stay at The Metropole in the last 4 years – so you can guess that we quite like it. We always vacillate as to whether to award 4 or 5 stars – as many aspects of the hotel are first class – with a few negatives. Location is first class – with a short walk to...

The Metropole is part of a small group of hotels owned by Keith Richardson. Upon arrival guests are treated to refreshments in the sunlounge. The room was spotless, bathroom of a good size although shower not very powerful, wifi worked, staff could not be bettered. Carpark for around 20 cars which should be booked in advance. At £5 it is...

Rooms very comfortable and clean. Great dining room overlooking the water. Watching the little ferry going to Rock and back again was very entertaining. Very popular with golfers. Excellent staff. The breakfast was included and was very good. I had grilled kippers every morning!! Lovely walks. Will return. Padstow is lovely, great bars and interesting shops.

I have always wanted to visit Padstow, so I set off from Scotland to make my dream come true. Metropole Hotel was fabulous luxury. The sea view room was everything I wanted. I went to Rick Steiens Seafood restaurant that evening, which was everything that I had hoped for. The shops were great! I had a dream come true holiday...

We spent 2 nights here as a special birthday treat. The staff were so friendly and attentive without being overly fussy. Lovely garden bedroom. Good choice of breakfast. Lovely food from the bar. We had a really lovely stay.

We came for a long weekend. As always all the staff made us so welcome. All the food is excellent. We have been coming for 5 years now, and hope to for many years to come. The hotel has the best views over the estuary. We love watching the sand coming off the ship and into the lorries. The trip...

We stayed here for one night on a cycling holiday- really warm friendly welcome and safe place inside the building to store the bikes. The hotel, which is over 100 years old, is perhaps showing its age in terms of decor, but this didn't matter to us. We got a good price thru a booking agent, but I note now...

We came here for 3 nights to celebrate an anniversary. Warm welcome, beautiful brasserie and lovely lunch menu. Reasonable prices. Unfortunately didn't try the dinner menu. Attentive waiting staff. We found a wonderful bottle of bubbly on our arrival in our room. Very thoughtful! As a mid twenties couple we definitely brought the average age down by a good 30...

We have been staying at this hotel for 20+ years for short stays. The evening meals are always excellent. However, there has been no real investment in the accommodation. It is like stepping back into the 70's. Poor decor old furniture and uncomfortable beds. This will sadly be our last stay. There are far better and less expensive places to...
