Having stayed at the Metropole on and off for the last 10 years we were as disappointed as last time! The restaurant has apparently a dress code of no shorts for dinner, as I was told by reception, however on both occasions I dined, some guests were wearing shorts with no mention! The food was average, if you don't mind dirty...

We stay regularly at The Metropole, as its location is perfect, and there isn't really very much choice if you don't want to stay in a B&B in the town of Padstow. Its location is perfect and it has parking! The staff are excellent, professional and friendly. We received a courtesy call before our arrival to warn us that there...

For the price of a room here this four star hotel needs to pull it socks up. OK all the expected facilities are there and the staff probably tick all the boxes without going the extra mile or appearing genuinely friendly. The communal rooms are generally in good order but the décor and service is extremely 1970s in places. We...

Padstow is really cool, and the Metropole hotel staff are friendly, kind, and they made our stay very comfortable. Terrific food in the restaurant too. There's a great cycling trail just outside, and you can also go surfing, dude! North Cornwall rocks.

The Metropole was perfect for us after doing 1068 from John O'Groats to Land's End on mopeds for Noah's Ark Childrens Hospital Charity. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and professional. When booking the rooms we were warned that there was a wedding on the Saturday with music until midnight, and that our rooms were next to the lift. On...

We had booked a three night stay at Metropole, Padstow. We booked a room with a sea view. When shown the room it was very small, the carpet was so dirty I would not have walked with bare feet on it. The grouting in the bathroom was very mildew also around the bath. I do not live in conditions like...

Thank you for a lovely relaxing stay at the Metropole Hotel. It was our second stay at the Metropole although the first was a few years ago. The staff are a credit to this hotel nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast had plenty of choices all well presented and tasty. The views from the restaurant are spectacular and we were...

Lovely position and wonderful views from seaview rooms. Service polished but rather impersonal - no concern when I broke a tooth on a rock-hard welcome biscuit. Pricey but extremely comfortable in a rather old-fashioned way. Main grouse was extremely poor wifi. The Stein fish and chippie just down the harbour is beyond sublime.

Just got back from a 2 night stay at the Metrapole in Padstow. It's location is ideal,in the town but you don't have to negotiate the narrow and tourist strewn lanes.Nice short cut into town, via the steps adjacent to Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant. We stayed in room 106 " The Bluebell Room". This was a lower ground floor room...

We choose the Metropole because of the location, which was great BUT the hotel does need a little TLC you can forgive the creaky floorboards as they add character but I am afraid our room (no.1) was in need of a freshen up eg new carpet, bathroom flooring, mattress. The room was compact which doesn't bother us, the decor was...
