Dorothy and Brian run a very friendly B & B on their working farm. Despite a busy lifestyle Dorothy finds time to look after her guests with care and attention to detail. Breakfast is of a high quality; it is served at the main dining table offering an opportunity to share news and travellers' tales with other guests. We would...

My husband and I enjoyed everything about our stay at this working farm: our huge room with its so-comfortable bed, the delicious, made-to-order breakfasts, and meeting Dorothy, a warm and thoughtful host who makes you feel welcome from the first moment...like one of her regulars, even if it's your first time there.

As a fanatical 'Geordie' living in exile, in the south, I brought my German wife and two good (Southern) friends to the Northumberland coast to show them how wonderful it is. (And it is!!!) I found Bilton Barns on TA and could not have been happier with the choice. From the organised booking and local knowledge of 'front-of-house' Dorothy, to...

Having discovered Bilton Barns last summer and sampling the B and B, a friend and I returned this August for 5 nights instead of last year's 2 and stayed in Emma's suite on a self catering basis. We had the usual warm welcome from Dorothy, and were more than happy with the accommodation--it was first class. The beds were comfortable,...

The views out over the farmland toward Alnmouth (less than two miles away) and the North Sea were spectacular. Great spot from which to explore the Northumberland coast (we easily visited Lindisfarne, Alnwick (Castle), and Warkworth Castle from here). Lovely bedroom and dining room; excellent breakfast.

We have just spend an idyllic week at Jenny's Cottage, Bilton Barns, Alnmouth. We where delighted when we arrived and saw the charming accommodation. The cottage is split level with the lounge and kitchen up a spiral staircase. The room was bright and spacious with a fantastic view of Alnmouth and the sea beyond. The bedroom was cosy and intimate...

We stayed here last minute on the early May bank holiday, paid for b&b and were give one of the little cottages, gorgeous! Two bedrooms, lovely bathroom and the more than comfortable living area upstairs. We had a lovely stay and the bed was super comfy. We only came up the road from Newcastle but was a fab place to...

This establishment is one of the best B & Bs we have stayed in and over the years have stayed in many. The sitting room and dining room were lovely. Our east facing room which overlooked the sea (wonderful sunrise) was great, very comfortable bed and the bathroom gets a 5* rating. Great roll top rub and large walk in...

We stayed twice, on the way north and then, because it was so good, on the way back down south. Very comfortable, everything you need, great room, bed, food and people. Highly recommended for anyone going to this wonderful area.
