Two of us stayed for one night with dinner, having seen The Royal Oak in The Good Food Guide. The room was nice, clean and quiet. We shared a Mixed Fish Platter to start. To follow we both chose South Down Spring Lamb Cutlets with Pastilla which were delicious. The desserts were amazing - I had Apple Panacotta with Apple...

The food and service for our party of eight was of high standard. The cuisine at the Royal Oak is always of a high standard, and the Inn atmosphere makes it a very relaxed occasion. Not much more to say, except a couple more local ales would go down a treat.

My mother and I popped in for a glass of wine, which i must say was delicious. The pub itself is lovely, as is the garden. The same however cannot be said about the owner and his bartender. The pair of them couldn't crack a smile if they tried. I found the owner to be pompous, and snobby. Especially when...

What a shame that this client wouldn't accept that we don't do single night stays on the weekends even for her lovely mum with who I had a delightful chat about our Chilean Merlot. Please let me know what to do when a client blocks the car park for others! Please see loads of other reviews praising us for our...

Stayed here a couple of years ago to attend a wedding and found ourselves back in the area for Sunday lunch. Set in the centre of a very pretty village this is a professionally well run venue. Front of house once again welcoming and friendly. Was impressed that when ordering a glass of house red wine that I wasn't offered...

A lovely pub with an excellent, well deserved reputation for food. Good range of dishes, without being too ambitious in scale. Decent beer and great, warm atmosphere in the bar. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Just stayed the one night, in a really cosy room, had a good night's sleep with the best pillows ever, wonderful shower, breakfast in a lovely old inn. Just absolutely perfect. Thank you. We will most definitely be back here.

Menu choice was good with something for everyone, we all swapped choices a few times before finally ordering when the waitress came to us so we couldn't change our minds again! Wine menu was good too. We had a range of dishes between us all and were not disappointed with any of them. No dessert, we chose to share a...

They very kindly fitted us in at the last moment but we were made very welcome and really enjoyed our meal. The food was well presented and there was a good choice of fish and meat. We were never hurried and sat chatting to people on the next table for quite a while after we had all finished without being...

Just spent the night here. Great room, so quiet and peaceful in the village. High standard of room, lots of nice touches. Really relaxing and fabulous food in the restaurant. Good wine list and lots of variety on the menu. Highly recommended.
