We were just travelling through and by chance parked next to the Bruce Hotel. In the window were some eating places recommendation stickers. We were quickly shown a choice of tables and dinner options explained. As it was Sunday there was a 3 course option for £15. Our food arrived quickly and we both had plenty to eat. The roast...

Went as a family for evening meal, outside the hotel looks cold , but the reception area is very warm and welcoming. Staff friendly and attentive and enjoyed a bit of banter. The menu is a little limited but our selections were well cooked, tasty and good portions. We dined in the bar which was cosy, the main restaurant looked...

End bedroom, Wall slanted inwards..created weird sensation. Clean and fully equipped, but badly in need of refurbishment. Remainder of hotel also in need of updating. Breakfast was great. Staff lovely and helpful. Car park and small beer garden area.

Stayed at The Bruce many times over the years, staff as always are excellent. The room we were in, could now do an upgrade. Bed was a basic double, fairly hard mattress and due to the size of the room it would have easily accommodated a King size bed, but then that's our preference. Lighting was poor in the bathroom...at...

As a group we have been here many times. Although the hotel is a little dated the service is second to none. Nothing is too much trouble from Callum the general manager down to Rob on the bar and the girls who served us. It is symptomatic of a well run hotel with very happy staff. The food is excellent...

This review is for the Restaurant only as I haven't stayed at the hotel. We went for a celebration meal for a 50th Birthday and all 13 of us enjoyed the food. I had the 10oz Rib Eye Steak, which at £22 isn't cheap, but was worth every penny. I asked for medium rare and it was cooked to perfection...

I had my wedding reception at The Bruce Hotel and they went out of their way to make it a really memorable day. The food was fantastic and they let a DJ perform in the back room from 12pm. The waiting staff were on hand to deal with any queries or things needed, The room was decorated by family and...

We came to this hotel as part of a coach group. I think we took over most of the rooms. Some of the party had been before but it was our first time. The hotel is a little dated and if your looking for 4/5* luxury your in the wrong place. If your looking for spotlessly clean hotel with really...

We had a great four day stay. Staff at the hotel were brilliant and could not have done more. Food was excellent throughout. The one small disappointment was the shower on our room, which was only running at a trickle.

First time of celebrating the new year in Scotland and a brilliant experience. Food was superb with generous portions. Certainly couldn't eat it all. Staff so helpful and local which was good to see. Manager the friendliest I have ever come across. Bedroom was large and bed comfortable. Never had such piping hot water and hotel was extremely warm throughout....
