Very welcoming. Large warm room with en - suite. Good bar prices. Food was very good value Did note in the information 'could be discos at summer weekends' but all very quiet when we were there (as was the town!)

The hotel was clean and the staff were lovely, helpful and efficient. The room was a good size but the en - suite was very small. The Market Inn has a central location but it is peaceful. We found it to be a good stopping off point on the journey to Stranraer. We did enjoy a lovely evening meal at...

Called in for drinks, the staff were friendly and dogs are allowed in the bar and bistro area However when meals are being served they are only allowed in the bistro area. We were to early for the evening meal so can't comment on yhe food

Booked a table for 8 with short notice but could not believe the quality of service and food. A limited menu but there was something for everyone in our party including one veggie who had a Brie starter for a main meal which was very tasty and very filling as they were huge!

We enjoyed our stay here. It is a pleasant hotel in the middle of Castle Douglas with attentive staff. Emma, Megan and Grace looked after us, a group of 7 cyclists, with exceptional care. The rooms were comfortable and we had a good dinner in the restaurant. Breakfast set us up for the next day’s cycle.

We had booked to stay elsewhere and found this hotel for food. Their food was absolutely amazing. We dined there two nights. We struggled both nights to finish our meals as they were huge helpings and worth every penny. Staff were lovely and the owners were very friendly indeed. Lovely decor and surrounds and if we are ever in castle...

What a lovely place to stay. Booked in at the last minute because the hotel we were originally booked into was absolutely awful! (The Urr Valley-stay away!!!) Thankfully, the Market Inn had a vacancy. We ate there on our second night, the fillet steak was to die for! You couldn't ask for nicer staff, Jo, James and especially Lisa. Hotel...

This hotel is lovely. Rooms excellent, very clean and spacious. Food at the hotel is lovely and great value for money. Breakfast was very nice with lots of choice, the full works was cooked to perfection. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Only hindrance was a constant pump going all night at the back of the hotel, drone...

Hi there. Thank you for your review. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. The drone noise you heard might be our coolers, though I'm not too sure. I'll definitely get on it and try find out exactly what it is, and if there's anything we can do about it. Thanks again for your review and we would love...
