After attending the funeral of my foster brother we had nothing organised for something to eat.I approached the boss and asked if he could supply fourteen people with soup and sandwiches,no problem him and his wife put on a lovely spread for us at very reasonable price. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were very helpful to us will definitely be back.

Awful service, unclean tables, cold food, all the meals came out seperate table of 16 and people had finished there meals before others came. When leaving waitress got confused with payments and tried to overcharge. Instead of apologising my 5 week pregnant friend got told they weren't welcome back. Shocking for an establishment myself and my friend both used to...

Re-opening today under new ownership. Over the last few weeks has been re-decorated and deep cleaned. Believe a new chef has been appointed. Wish the Boyd brothers all the best in their business venture.

Then beef burger and chips and mushroom stroganoff both homemade. Big portions and the chips were great. Didn't get dessert as we were stuffed. Service was quick and the waitress had a good sense...

Located at the top end of the main high street running through the town, it's easily found opposite a free carpark and the Scottish tourists information centre. We called in about half past one on a weekday afternoon whilst on a family holiday in nearby Dumfries. The Crown Hotel in Castle Douglas had a nicely decorated restaurant separate to the...

Aweful hotel - the ground floor area as smelly, the furnishings and seats in the bar area were threadbare and dirty. The doors to the 2 bedrooms which we were taken to had been forced open and there was no lock on one bedroom door!!!

Have to say Sarah and the staff are terrific, the food is superb, maybe smaller portions would be better, but all freshly made couldn't complain about the quality. Unfortunately I think more attention could be paid to the accommodation. Although the room was reasonably clean the bedding was very tired, white sheets were grey, duvet cover ripped and really just...
