My partner and I stayed here for a night b&b after I'd been singing the evening before in the pub part of the hotel. This is second time at the venue and first overnight stay. The owners are really friendly and make sure you are well looked after and nothing is too much of a problem. The room was lovely...

Having been on many supposed golfing parties! I must say this one was the most memorable. We left the arrangements for the golf in the hands of our host Colin, we were rewarded with three great venues, all at great rates. On arrival at the Crown we were made most welcome and treat like friends by all, staff and locals...

We walked into this place and we instantly felt welcomed. A nice cosy friendly pub where people spoke. We took our 20 & 16 year old sons with us, even our youngest said he liked the feeling of the place. We ordered our food, three main courses and a starter for myself. The portions were massive. Our sons struggled to...

We were looking for a late lunch/early dinner meal on a Saturday afternoon and opted for the Crown. It was a good choice, we had the steak and ale pie with potatoes and veg. The portions are large and homemade, staff friendly and pub traditional. All in all a good value meal in an old style pub that is worth...

Been to Castle Douglas several times and stayed in most of the hotels there. But the Crown is one I will return to. You get a friendly helpful welcome. All the staff can not do enough for you. The decor could do with updating but that is nothing compared to the hospitality you receive from Alexander, Colin and Sarah. The...
