We stayed in Leckmelm House, as our son wanted 'a stone cottage in the woods on the West Coast' for the October break. It ticks all of those perfectly! Very spacious and homely let, with particularly comfortable beds, good family living areas, and a very large wood burning fire in the middle of it all. The photos on the website... More

I stayed at Leckmelm while I was making a film about crofting. The hospitality up here is impressive - and the hosts that run the estate (Lucy, and her two sons) made me feel really welcome. They even played the bag pipe in the evening for me. The cottages offer an excellent view of the sun going down behind the... More

This was my second visit and this time we booked all three Lochside cottages and travelled with friends and family including a young child. Lucy was fantastic again and left a selection of toys out for the young one to play with on the grass, I was a little jealous I couldn't use them to be honest. Everybody who stayed... More

We stayed as a large group in the lochside cottages and I can safely say it was one of the best holidays I've ever had. The cottages are clean, cosy and have everything you need. We are definitely coming back and have recommended to more family.

Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Leckmelm Cottages. We were in Cottage No. 1. It has a fantastic location right by Loch Broom. Tremendous views onto to the loch. A good size for up to four people. Kitchen fully kitted out. Everything you need to get away from it all. Lucy B was very helpful throughout our stay. I cannot... More

My husband and I stayed for the first time at Leckmelm in 2005 in Campeltown No. 5. It was just us at the time and we had a wonderful time exploring the estate, visiting the local area. Lucy was so lovely and welcoming we never wanted to leave, in 2008, we went again then with our nearly 2 year old... More

Dear Melanie M I do remember you coming and then returning with your baby, well things have changed a little since 2008, but all for the good. At Leckmelm House we have done a bit of modernising and also at no 5 but each cottage still retains its own character and Leckmelm House is great if visiting with kids. In... More

This was our first visit to Leckmelm after passing it on many holidays to the area. The cottage had everything we needed for a base. The bed was so comfortable. Thanks for the kind comments. All our mattresses are supplied by Highland Blindcraft a social enterprise in Inverness that supports blind and partially sighted people in jobs. I am pleased to buy from them as they make really good quality products, and have been established for many years and supplying us for many years too. More

Getting booked at the last minute can be a bit of a lottery. We booked after checking the website and were looking forward to being right beside Loch Broom.
