For being above a pub we weren't sure what we were in for but was pleasantly surprised. Food was very good and accommodation was nice, no thrills but was exactly what we needed. Although it was above a pub there was no noise from the bar.

Last December my fiancé and I were booked to go across to Stornoway, however the ferry was cancelled due to a storm so we started looking for dog friendly places we could stay. The staff were extremely helpful, answered all questions easily and were very happy to take us and our dogs. We were given one of the big rooms...

Not many places to eat on an evening and many tend to have a ridiculous system whereby you can not book in advance. You have to call in and put your name down until your table is ready (a great way to boost your bar profits). If you arrive after 7.00pm forget it, they wont add you to the list....

Our family of 4 stayed here for 1 night as our second stop while driving the NC500. We parked in the car park at the rear & found reception through the traditional old fashioned bar. Thankfully the room was a lot more modern with lovely views overlooking the water. Bed was very comfortable. We were booked on a room only...

The food looks appetising and reasonably priced but the music sets the place alight, Monday is a Folk Players circle, take your instrument and join in, all welcome and be you a regular or a visitor you will be assured of a warm and enthusiastic welcome. We were so happy to find some vegetarian and vegan options in the menu of this little pub. We had the felafel burger and the bangers and mash (with veggie sausages ). The burger was a bit dry and would have been better with more sauce of some kind. The bangers and mash was fantastic ! Served in a giant...

The Argyll Hotel was a fabulous place for our 1 night stopover in Ullapool en route to the North. One street back from the waterfront, we had a huge, newly renovated, seaview room and it was fantastic. The view over the harbour was beautiful and we couldn't fault a thing in the room. The furnishings and décor were modern and...

When we walked into the Argyll to check in, I was a little concerned. The entry and the stairs going up weren't very attractive. I was very relieved, however, when we entered our room. The room was clean and comfortable, as was the shared bathroom. Now, while the room worked out just fine, I don't think I would have wanted...
