Scarista House is a very special place for us. We first visited at the turn of the millennium and a couple of years later held our wedding blessing reception there, which all our guests remember so fondly. Our stay last night was our fourth. We love Scarista House for its location - overlooking one of the most beautiful sandy beaches...

We return again and again to this very special place in the remote Outer Hebrides. It's not just the location, or the lovely atmospheric old manse, or the delcious food, or the adorable wee pug that draws us back every few years - it's all of these and more. I hasten to recommend it too strongly because I feel that...

Most relaxing place to stay in Western Isles. Beautiful view of the bay, very well looked after by Patricia and Tim plus their staff. Food and wine list delicious. A heavenly place to stay. Very comfortable rooms. The afternoon tea is just too tempting.

This was our second visit to Scarista House, since our previous visit left us with such fond memories that we had to return. And it sure lived up to our expectations. This time, we had the largest Suite in the extra building and it was an ideal fit. It had a living room with a kitchen corner and the bedroom,...

We spent 3 days at this lovely hotel on Scarista Beach. We arrived in the pouring rain but soon warmed up after afternoon tea with scones, cake and shortbread in front of an open fire. The rooms were comfortable with very efficient heating and good facilities. More like staying in someone's house than in a hotel. The food was outstanding....

I cannot say what it is like to stay, as we only booked for dinner and we were not disappointed. Arrival at 7.30 for dinner at 8. Delicious canapes and pre dinner drink while choosing from the set menu. Everyone eats at the same time, at separate tables, with no problems with service. The staff are efficient and very helpful...

Had a wonderful two night stay here, enjoying superb island hospitality in a former Georgian Manse set back from a stunning crescent of sandy beach. The weather was one of those classic four-seasons-in-a-single-day affairs, but we had the warmest of welcomes on arrival and a lovely cream tea served in the drawing room made us feel right at home from...

Close to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and with a superb dining experience this hotel and its restaurant are unique. The house is very old and given it's exposed and remote location there are a few maintenance issues but the owners, staff and atmosphere along with fellow guests make for a fantastic stay in one of...

We went for dinner , and it is best to book, as it is very popular. Set in a former Georgian Manse.,near Scarista Beach. Before dinner we enjoyed delicious freshly made canapes in the sitting room..cheese sables, fresh crab on croutons, falafels., olives etc. An open fire, shelves of old books, interesting prints and pictures, old albums filled with black and...

There are rooms in the main house as well as on a separate cottage. We stayed in Glebe cottage behind the main house. We still had wonderful views of Scarista beach . Breakfast and dinner were provided by the excellent chefs on the main kitchen and the food was plentiful and local. There were many generous and thoughtful aspects to...
