Having decided to have an autumn break by the coast, we chose Bryn Melyn for the location and view, as the guest house claimed to have excellent views of the estuary. This was indeed true, and for the first half of our break this is exactly what we had. The British weather did it's best to hide the view for...

I met my sister-in-law for an evening in Barmouth on family business. I am a keen researcher and found that this lovely place had a couple of rooms, one for her & her very well-behaved Irish Terrier. I had not carefully read their 'fine print' and thought we'd have dinner there but Thursday night was not on offer; our kind...

Thank you for your review and we are delighted that we were able to make your short stay with your sister-in-law so pleasant. I am aware that some online travel agencies list Bryn Melyn as having a restaurant. As our own web site makes clear this is not the case, but we do offer dinner on certain nights of the...

David and Heather go out of their way to make your visit memorable. Beautiful location with rooms overlooking the estuary and very efficient service. Footpaths lead straight out onto the hills above Barmouth. Well worth a visit.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review - it really is very much appreciated. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us so much and appreciated the 'little touches' in your room. Don't forget there's lots more to discover in this area so we hope we might see you again at some stage.

Fantastic, pleasant cosy and comfy. Just a small walk into Barmouth but well worth it. Friendly people couldn't do enough for us. Room was very spacious and clean also smelt lovely. The view was out of this world. The breakfast was very very nice, locally sourced too which is nice. Had a fantastic sleep which went hand in hand with...

Thank you for your review. We are always pleased when a guest sleeps well, (the memory foam mattresses seem to help), as relaxation and renewal is what a stay in Barmouth should be all about. Hopefully we will be able to welcome you back again sometime.

If you are thinking of visiting the Barmouth area you must first try to make a booking at the Bryn Melyn Guest House. Guest House is a bit of a misnomer really as the Bryn Melyn is more like a small, top quality. family run hotel. You will get no better accomodation and possibly worse service in any "top quality"...

Gosh! Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a positive review. It really is very much appreciated. We have been at Bryn Melyn for 7 years now and during that time have spent a lot of time (and money if we are truthful) an upgrading the experience of staying here. It's good when guests appreciate that...

This is a place that gives attention to detail. The welcome is warm, the room lovely, fresh and light, the views fabulous. The icing on the cake - it's very dog friendly. I highly recommend it and we will come back.

Fabulous stay. Room was spotless and everything replenished every day. Fantastic view over the estuary. Breakfast was great and certainly sets you up for the day. Huge hill to walk up to the property but certainly worth it for the views.

Thank you for posting your review. We do try and clean everything to a high standard so it is always good when our guests feel that we succeed. The hill seems to divide people - it's the thing we get most 'complaints' about, but as you observe it's the reason we have such wonderful views and we feel it's worth...
