A charming 1880s building with wood panelling and stained-glass windows standing above the coast. Our room overlooking the road was fairly basic. Meals are taken in a room overlooking the sea but the evening sun and large windows sadly made it unpleasantly hot. Breakfast offered a range of choices but ingredients were not the best.

Hello RoundBritain2000, Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased to hear that you enjoyed the many original aspects of our lovely building. The conservatory seating is much sought after, offering a stunning view and wonderful sunsets. We do open the windows when it’s hot and sunny, but this isn’t always possible if there is a strong sea breeze. Our breakfasts...

Came here a couple of years ago and loved the views of the bay from the room, restaurant and garden. Food and service still excellent. The rooms are not big and not the last word in luxury but they don't charge luxury prices. The walk into town might be off putting for some but a great way to walk of...

Although it was a nice location and the scenery was superb, the room we got faced the car park. The walk into town was quite a workout as there were quite a few steep hills but that would be expected as it is Wales. The breakfast was nice although the staff were foreign, we could both understand clearly but they...

Hello Joseph, Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased to hear that you enjoyed the breakfast and also the timeless scenery. We do advise when booking if the room is a sea view or hillside view, and the hill you see from your window, Dinas Oleu, is quite historic, being the first land gifted to the National Trust in 1895....

Nice welcome when we arrived; except the rain clouds above. The food menu is short which suggests it's all cooked on location; excellent. The plated food was very good as was the service. Would we come again --- YES; with the sun setting through conservatory window it was a really nice meal & evening.

The hotel had an excellent viewpoint, the food was very good, the staff were foreign but polite, the owners were friendly. We stayed in a four poster turret room for one night dinner bed and breakfast costing £166. In my opinion it was very overpriced. The decor and furnishings are very lacklustre. The room was very cramped and an en...

Stayed here with the Mrs for the night. Welcoming staff, nice room, very clean and well kept. The views are amazing and it's a nice walk to Barmouth town for the pubs. Breakfast included and was very nice. Sat in the conservatory that overlooked the sea which was very romantic. Couldn't recommend highly enough!

Yes it's true this isn't a castle, but come on guys that's not rocket science is it? This is a beautifully quirky building which resembles a castle and is enhanced by the wood panelled entrance .
